Jenny Jennys: the nail artist behind Hailey Bieber’s nails
We’re in sunny Los Angeles, West Hollywood. After 14 years of training in Europe, nail technician Jenny Jennys is ready to become the new rising star of luxury nail art. Sitting at her station, you’ll often find not only Hailey Bieber but also Jasmine Tookes and Elsa Hosk. She offers many services, but what stands out are the “wedding nails” for VIP ceremonies and her innovative “bio gel nails”. Among her most frequent creations, you’ll definitely notice a natural baby boomer look and a deep burgundy gel manicure. But let’s peek at her price list: a refill costs about $250, while a new set starts at no less than $400. If you also want a quick pedicure, don’t expect to pay less than $600. And keep in mind, these prices apply to very simple work, because each decoration costs an extra $25.
Lisa Kon: the most loved by the Kardashians
Lisa arrived in the U.S. 8 years ago, leaving behind her small Russian hometown. The young nail technician collaborates with top editorials and global magazines, and now the Kardashians spend over $1,000 for a manicure done by her. On the Instagram profile of this expert, you can see many works on Zendaya and Kylie Jenner’s nails. A gel polish application in one of her LA beauty salons has a more competitive price, around $100, while the combo (manicure + pedicure) costs $220. Lisa is famous for her technique characterized by precision and a steady hand, just as required by the Russian nails trend. But that’s not all: she has turned her name into a real brand, selling the same products she uses herself, such as nail polishes and LED lamps. Her nail polishes are affordable, at about $13 each, and can be purchased directly on her website.
Zola Ganzorigt: the forbidden dream of every it girl
From Sabrina Carpenter to Sydney Sweeney to Jennie from Blackpink, before hitting the stage, their looks are perfected by Zola Ganzorigt. For the past 5 years, Zola has been setting nail trends, replicated everywhere on social media, earning her the title of nail trendsetter. Think of Hailey’s “glazed donut nails,” or Vanessa Hudgens’ viral metallic nail designs. Zola is also renowned for being part of the iconic U.S. festival: Coachella. From her social media accounts, it’s clear that Los Angeles is her base of operations, but what sets her apart are her nail tutorials. We don’t know how much a manicure from Zola Ganzorigt costs, but one thing is certain, you could easily recreate it yourself. As she revealed in several interviews, her goal is to design nail art that’s easy to replicate, breaking down the aura of exclusivity surrounding the it girls. Recently, she even uploaded a tutorial to recreate the nail art she designed specifically for the Manchild music video.
Does it make sense to spend so much on nails?
This is one of the most common questions under videos of girls visiting their idols’ beauty salons, trying for at least one day to step into their shoes and live a full-on celebrity experience. The internet seems divided. Some think these prices are crazy, even for a star, especially if the work is simple and the same service at a less famous nail salon would cost less than half. Others, however, consider the price fair, since we’re talking about Hollywood stars’ wallets and also considering the cost of living in Los Angeles, especially in certain neighborhoods. Imagine having to pay the rent for a salon, employees, tools, and high-end products. Clearly, the matter of manicure prices doesn’t have a single answer and depends on perspective: are you judging only the service itself, or the entire context that makes it possible? What do you think?
