The Yarn Bombing Festival is coming to Milan

If you like crochet, the handmade trend of summer 2021, then hold on tight because from June 11 to 13, 2021 the Yarn Bombing Festival Milano will take place and the city will be invaded by over 100 colorful crocheted works of art from all over the world, from Australia to Brazil, from Great Britain to South Africa. 

Launched with a call on social networks Instagram and FB, the event includes the participation of very different creatives, such as @madebylondon, the Russian @katikaart or the Italian @meri.ciuchi, and includes among the most interesting installations a collective work entitled Fobia Sociale, composed of thousands of eyes of different colors and yarns, created to give voice and support to all people suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder. 

The location is the eastern area of the Lombard city center, the same where stands the urban regeneration project Scalo Lambrate, which, with its spaces dedicated to coworking, showcase for artists and designers, synergistic garden and bar restaurant, is among the promoters of the event. Even the date of the Festival has been carefully decided and coincides with the weekend of World Yarn Bombing Day, i.e. June 12, the day in which we celebrate the street art born in the early 2000s in Houston and soon became a global phenomenon with millions of fans who will soon transform the Lambrate district into a sort of open-air museum.

The Yarn Bombing Festival Milano will donate the proceeds of the works sold to Caritas Ambrosiana, in support of the Solidarity Emporium of Municipio 3.
