Did you know that Troye Sivan has a line of perfumes? Between perfumes and home objects, Tsu Lange Yor is one of the singer's most personal projects.
In the world of celebrity beauty lines, the same thing often happens: a star announces a perfume, prints their name on a bottle, and the job is done. But every now and then someone takes it a bit more seriously. Like Troye Sivan, who in 2023 launched a fragrance brand (and more) together with his brother. If you missed it, you’re in good company. Because yes, while everyone was talking about his musci career, he was quietly building a small olfactory universe.
Tsu Lange Yor, the brand signed by Troye Sivan & family
The brand is called Tsu Lange Yor and was created together with his brother Steele Mellet, but the name is much more personal than you might think. The expression, taken from Yiddish, literally means "to long and good years" and pays tribute to the language spoken by his great-grandmother and, more broadly, to those family memories that survive across generations. It’s therefore no surprise that the project was conceived from the beginning as something very intimate. In several interviews, Troye Sivan explained that he received various proposals from major beauty companies interested in launching a classic celebrity perfume, but he never really identified with that kind of operation, he wanted something more personal. So instead of simply lending his name to a fragrance, he returned to Australia to develop it with his brother.
Perfumes and more
The idea behind the brand is simple: to create fragrances and objects that transform a space into a place that smells like home, memories and identity. From this philosophy comes the Self fragrance collection, which brings together several unisex scents. Among them are Sage’s Rose, inspired by his sister; Sala, inspired by a “lush memory”; Luca, a mystical and seductive fragrance; TLY 5755, a spicy scent that evolves over time; By Your Side, smoky and enveloping; Pool, summery and sparkling; and Sassafras, reminiscent of a summer bonfire. Each fragrance has its own personality and atmosphere, united by a minimal yet recognizable packaging and a very intimate aesthetic that defines the entire olfactory identity of Tsu Lange Yor. But the project doesn’t stop at the skin: alongside the perfumes there is also Sanctuary, the line dedicated to the home, which includes scented candles, oil burners and objects designed to make domestic spaces even more welcoming, even extending to textiles like Throw, the merino wool blanket, as well as beanies and sweaters.
