The pear fragrances we love Fresh, sweet and juicy: a versatile note

With its freshness and juicy sweetness, pear can add character to a fragrance without necessarily making it gourmand. Much depends on the ingredients it's paired with: alongside spices and creamy accords, it can feel riper and warmer, while with floral notes it becomes lighter and more delicate. In other words, simply calling it a fruity note doesn't quite do it justice. Here are five fragrances that prove it.

The pear perfumes we're loving

Pear Pavlova by French Cowboy

Pear Pavlova was created in collaboration with Allie Goodbun, a prominent Parisian showgirl. The idea was to explore two sides of her personality, somewhere between lightness and strength. That's how the fragrance takes shape: it opens with juicy pear and soft, sugary meringue, paired with pink pepper and bitter almond. At the heart, there's Sambac jasmine, while the base settles into ambrette musk.

Cristal Poire by Le Monde Gourmand

Cristal Poire is a fruity floral fragrance that puts the season's star fruit centre stage. The opening feels like a proper fruit salad, with crisp pear, peach and raspberry. A floral bouquet follows at the heart, bringing together floral notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and freesia. The base combines cedarwood and sugared musk, giving the fragrance an even softer, sweeter finish.

Retrospect by Merit

Retrospect is the very first fragrance launched by Merit. The idea was to revisit the codes of classic perfumery with a more contemporary approach. Pear is immediately noticeable in the opening, alongside bergamot, ambrette and aldehydes. The heart brings together jasmine, rose, violet, rosemary and iris, while vanilla and musk in the base make the whole composition warmer and more enveloping.

Yes I Do by Etat Libre d'Orange

Yes I Do is one of those fragrances with a story to tell: a chance nighttime encounter between a man and a young woman, a stolen kiss in a car and a bouquet of white flowers. The opening pairs pear with aldehydes and lily of the valley, giving the fragrance a more green feel. At the heart, peony, jasmine and orange blossom come through, followed by a base of cedarwood, cocoa and musk.

Fiamma by Ferragamo

Fiamma is Ferragamo's first women's fragrance, launched in 2025. Its name evokes the strength, energy and confidence we all carry within us. It opens with white pear, nectarine and cherry, accompanied by saffron, ambrette and calendula. The heart brings together jasmine, gardenia, honeysuckle and Damask rose. In the base, Ambrox, patchouli, musk and sugared musk create a warmer, more enveloping trail.
