Fall 2022 Couture Fashion Week Moodboard
The inspirations from the catwalks
Looking back at the past to rewrite the present and imagine the future. This seems to be the leitmotif of the latest Haute Couture Weeks and the one dedicated to the Autumn/Winter 22 season is no exception. Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli continues to interpret Elsa Schiaparelli's surrealism in a maximalist key, bringing to the catwalk dresses that bloom like flowers in a lovely garden. Virginie Viard, for Chanel's latest fashion show, plunged into the Maison's archives to cite Madame Coco's eternal obsession with the equestrian mood, her 1932 Bijoux de Diamants and the '8' and '90s collections by Karl Lagerfeld; while Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, paid homage to fashion's enfant terrible, bringing Jean Paul Gaultier's magic from Les Tatouages in 1994 to his creations for Madonna back into the spotlight. Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga also followed this stream of memories, narrating a love poem for her husband made of je t'aime, neoprene-covered humanoids, revisitation of Cristobal Balenciaga's silhouettes and many stars, from Kim Kardashian to Dua Lipa and Nicole Kidman.
