Saucony has joined forces with boutique Fresh Rags to create a sneaker inspired by Florida's iconic animal: the manatee. The result is the Grid Web Manatee, a shoe made from premium materials and featuring a definitely cool and refreshing look. Every detail has been carefully designed to reproduce the typical elements of the marine mammal. The upper is made of grey suede to evoke its algae-covered skin; the green stripes on the back panels that branch out to the midsole are reminiscent of spring water grass; while the icy, two-tone sole recalls clear spring water. Inside the box is a double set of laces, declined in green and marshmallow, to choose from.
In addition to the sneaker, the collaboration includes some apparel made of nylon such as t-shirts, shorts, caps, beach towels and other accessories.
The Grid Web Manatee will be available worldwide at select retailers beginning July 17, but as of June 26 you can already find it exclusively at FreshRags.com. For those who want to support the preservation of manatees, which are dying in increasing numbers, forced to starve due to the loss of their seaweed habitat, they can do so on the donation portal at freshragsfl.com.
