All the employees at the Milan offices of The Estée Lauder Companies Italia have dyed the city's streets pink, carrying the powerful message of the Breast Cancer Campaign, Breast Care is a Training. The initiative invites us to transform self-care into a habit to be cultivated every day: prevention, just like sport, is in fact a daily training made up of awareness, perseverance and attention over time.

Led by Federica Polinori (SVP South & East Europe and General Manager Italy), by Prof. Oreste Davide Gentilini (Head of the Breast Surgery Unit and Breast Unit Coordinator of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital) and by Sara Galimberti (former professional athlete of the Italian national team and running coach), the employees of The Estée Lauder Companies Italia have crossed the heart of Milan, creating a real pink spot, animated by flags and banners. The route touched some of the most iconic places in the Lombard capital, from Via Manzoni to Piazzale Cordusio, passing through Via Dante until reaching Piazza Castello.

The participants tested themselves inside the Sempione Park with a series of practical exercises together with SG Squad, the sports reality founded by Sara Galimberti. During the session, they received advice and suggestions to approach running and physical movement, integrating it into their daily lives as a form of primary prevention. The most exciting moment of the day coincided with the creation of a large human Pink Ribbon around the fountain in Piazza Castello, illuminated in pink for the occasion: a collective and symbolic gesture to make visible the company's commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

Prevention, free visits and AIRC support

This initiative is part of a larger awareness-raising program that involves representatives of the scientific community in training and discussion meetings dedicated to employees. The collaboration with Prof. Gentilini was created precisely with the objective of making available to the people of ELC Italia the experience and scientific expertise to deepen the topic of women's health and promote greater awareness of the importance of early diagnosis. This commitment is also accompanied by the free breast examinations offered by the company for its employees and for the wives of employees. Promoted worldwide by The Estée Lauder Companies for over 30 years, the Breast Cancer Campaign was founded in 1992 by the will of Evelyn H. Lauder, creator of the iconic Pink Ribbon, today a universal symbol of the fight against breast cancer and a message of hope. In Italy, the Campaign has been alive for years through the historic partnership with the AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research.
