A climax started in the '60s
Pastel eyeshadows were extremely popular in the 1960s, especially during the "mod" era and with the iconic look of stars like Twiggy. During that decade, pastel tones were used to create fresh and luminous eye makeup looks, often paired with graphic eyeliners and dramatic lashes. In the 1980s, makeup became bolder and more colorful, but pastel eyeshadows remained part of the scene, although they were accompanied by more vibrant tones like neons: pink and blue were among the most popular. In the 1990s, pastel eyeshadows were occasionally seen in cooler shades like lavender or grey. In the 2000s, pastel eyeshadows made a major comeback, becoming the stars of soft yet fun looks, with a youthful and playful vibe.
