On the night of May 5th, the most anticipated fashion event of the year took place: the Met Gala 2025, where each year the most famous, admired, and closely-watched celebrities walk the red carpet in extravagant looks. The Met Gala is a fundraising event benefiting the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. It takes place on the first Monday in May and is organized by Vogue. It all began in the 1950s, with the opening of the museum’s wing dedicated to the history of fashion and costume. It’s a glamorous and prestigious event that imposes a dress code on its guests, which is also the theme of the exhibition it inaugurates. This high-society gathering takes place during the astrological Taurus season, associated with materiality and wealth. Fittingly, it’s a fundraising event. Moreover, the sign of Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, which represents beauty, style, art (and love too). In short, it’s all about fashion.
