Marion Cotillard is the new face of Chanel N°5 And the protagonist of the film that celebrates the iconic fragrance

Music, dance, seduction, in a lunar landscape. These are the main ingredients of the new CHANEL campaign that pays homage to the iconic Chanel N°5 fragrance.

The Swedish director Johan Renck takes N°5 over the Moon, in a short-film with an ethereal and mysterious atmosphere: the moon is a symbol of femininity and is the scenography for the film.

French actress Marion Cotillard, protagonist of the campaign and new muse of Chanel N°5, dances to the notes of Team by the singer-songwriter from New Zealand Lorde, in a celebration of modern love where woman and man accompany and support each other, in a elegant and seductive pas-de-deux. The lyrics of the song are evocative, in fact it speaks of joy and equality, of a perfect mutual bond: "we're on each other's team". The performance is tailor-made for Marion Cotillard and her partner, étoile Jérémie Bélingard, by the choreographer Ryan Heffington.

The lace dress worn by the actress was also designed especially for her by Virginie Viard, Articstic Director of CHANEL collections - inspired by special a dress loved by Karl Lagerfeld and Mademoiselle Coco - and is designed to follow all her dance step.

I wanted Marion to perform in a dress that was completely CHANEL, past, present and future. Iconic. We started from the dress worn by Mademoiselle Chanel, immortalized by Cecil Beaton in 1937 which Karl Lagerfeld particularly liked... We adjusted it so that Marion could make it her own, dance in it; we wanted the dress to serve her and not the other way around.” said Virginie.

According to Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, Head of Global Creative Resources Fragrance and Beauty, Marion Cotillard naturally represents the idea of femininity dear to the Maison and linked to the fragrance, and the actress herself confirms that she feels a deep and innate connection with N°5, that she describes as "more than a fragrance, a work of art".
