10 sustainable tools for soft hair Why choosing recycled and natural materials for a gift

Extremely trendy and now present in almost all collections, eco-friendly beauty tools for hair are made with recycled or natural materials, thus allowing to reduce the consumption of plastic and disposable materials. Wood is by far the most valid green alternative to classic plastic products as it brings benefits to the environment but also to the crown as it is a natural conductor and therefore avoids static electricity. To be used on all types of hair, from curls to straight, do not tear hair, distribute sebum and eliminate frizz. Obviously, speaking of vegan and sustainability the question arises: but using brushes and combs in wood, do we not deforeste the planet?

Surely even this type of purchase must be "aware" and as little impact as possible. In this regard it is advisable to pay attention to one of the most important certifications in this area, the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). It is an international organisation that certifies non-logging timber and ensures it is re-implanted for sustainable development. Choosing the brand’s wooden combs and brushes with this type of certification allows you to buy vegan and at the same time to be the least impact possible towards our planet. In addition to wood, there are also hair brushes made of recycled plastic, wood chips or cardboard. Some models are also biodegradable, which is definitely a step forward. What about the bristles? You may not know this but there are several possibilities that you have in your home brushes with animal bristles, such as boar and pig bristles. Attention! Commercially available alternatives for the use of vegetable bristles, for example with sisal bristles.

Everyone now knows that curly hair should be combed only when wet and with a wooden comb with wide teeth. Try to use a wooden comb you will notice that your curly hairstyle will be even more defined and elastic; this is because the wooden comb eliminates the knots and facilitates the detachment of the locks going to neutralize the static hair. The wooden comb is ideal even if you have smooth hair, but in this case you can use two different: the first one with wide teeth to remove the knots, while during drying better use one with narrow teeth, so you get a perfect smooth silk and avoid a frizzy and puffy finish.
