All the looks of Margot Robbie for Barbie press tour Among creations by Valentino, Bottega Veneta and an avalanche of pink

There's been a lot of hype surrounding Barbie live-action since Greta Gerwig agreed to write the script and then direct in 2019. Every new image, indiscretion, backstage footage or trailer, from the paparazzi on set of Margot Robbie in spandex and rollerblades to Ryan Gosling as Ken, has contributed to the rise of Barbiecore fever, enveloping us all in a pink cloud that seems unstoppable, infecting both the fashion and design worlds (have you seen the Dream House set up for the film?). Now that 21 July, the date when we can finally see the film in cinemas, is approaching, the trend is gaining more and more fans. Starting with Margot Robbie and the rest of the cast, who are on the promo tour for the press these days.

The actress seems to have put aside her role as testimonial for Chanel for a moment to wear brands and creations that can also be found in Barbie's wardrobe and, continuing with the method acting, put herself completely in character. The proof? The range of looks Margot is wearing on the advice of her stylist Andrew Mukamal are all pink, super cute and inspired by the outfits of the iconic Mattel doll.

Earlier this year, Robbie and Gossling attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas to officially introduce the film in two coordinated looks: to channel the right "Ken energy"," the La La Land star opted for a pair of black jeans and a faded fuchsia-pink bomber jacket by Acne Studios, under which stood out a white graphic T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Greta Gerwig" in Mattel's signature Barbie font; while The Wolf of Wall Street actress chose a pink and white checked set by Prada, consisting of a 1950s-style bralette and mini skirt. The photos show that Robbie wore a long coat with it, also checked, which was teamed with a mini bag, Christian Louboutin open-toed shoes, a gold anklet by Chanel and dangling earrings.

As well as the shades of pink, the vintage feel, alluding to the heyday of Barbie, was characteristic of every creation Margot wore, including the two Valentino dresses that were featured on the Kelly Clarkson show and at a party in Los Angeles. Appearing on TV, where she confessed to asking Greta Gerwig if she could have a dream house with a slide leading from the bedroom to the pool, she wore a square neck minidress and heels both adorned with Valentino's "V" At the first press event for the highly anticipated film, held in L.A., the Barbie star showed up in a cut-out American neck minidress featuring a white polka dot print on a hot pink background. It was custom-made by Pierpaolo Piccioli, who paired a model from the Italian fashion house's SS1993 collection with a dress from the 2015 Barbie Pink and Fabulous line, which was also the inspiration for Andrew Mukamal's chosen accessories, namely a yellow shoulder strap by Valentino, a pair of white shoes by Manolo Blahnik and a pearl bracelet by Assael. The real detail that screams Barbie? The pink Corvette behind Margot's back!

The other Barbie-style outfit the Australian actress is wearing these days is by Bottega Veneta. It's a twinset consisting of a pleated skirt and a tailored silk mélange balconette top, paired with a Cabat bag and a pair of Manolo Blahnik mules. Everything (including the pale pink oval sunglasses) in the same pastel pink as her old Corvette. Which of the outfits Margot Robbie chose for the Barbie press tour is your favourite?
