5 destinations in Italy loved by fashion brands to visit this summer And a shopping guide to find the perfect look for each of these fashionable locations

2021 is the year of Italy they say, thanks to the recognition of our excellences including music and sport, but also fashion is no exception. Thanks to the forced closure and the revaluation of travel, the fashion system has focused on beauty at km 0. Unique destinations of their kind and attached craftsmanship, have long been the protagonists of the resort lines, dedicated to travel, and to Haute Couture. But what are these cities? And why not visit them this summer 2021?

The charm of the beautiful country does not only conquer tourists from all over the world, even the Italians choose their own country. According to Istat data, 33% of Italians will choose their region of residence against 63% who will move to other regions, are you among them too? nss G-Club takes you around to discover the 5 most fashionable destinations in Italy, helping you to find the right look for each of them.

VENICE

July was the month of the Serenissima. The lagoon city had already enchanted Christian Dior in 1951 on the occasion of the Ball of the Century for which he signed the costumes together with other colleagues such as Cardin and Nina Ricci. The same maison under the direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri with its feminist messages on marine sweaters has paid homage to the perfect style for the Venetian streets. In this July of Haute Couture Fall Winter 2021-22 and off-calendar events are Valentino with the Des Ateliers collection, the second presented in Italy after the pandemic, and the mysterious return to Saint Laurent's live shows to settle in Venice. Impossible to resist one of the most envied and unique cities in the world, without being struck by the majesty of the Basilica of San Marco with its mix of Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine.

What to wear: The perfect look? Stripes for a traditional marine style, which immediately makes a holiday, alternating or mixed with polka dots and boat shoes for a possible gondola ride, and don't forget a hat, from the classic boater to the bucket hat. The gondolier might mistake you for a colleague and give you a discount.

ROME

In Rome, its statues and its eternity, Pasolini and the neorealist cinema, Kim Jones refers to his second Fendi Couture collection. The city of Italian Haute Couture has recently concluded the annual AltaRoma edition and is now ready to welcome the tourists it has missed so much. A destination not only for designers, the historic streets of Rome become ideal sets for Instagram shots of the queens of social media, from which to draw inspiration.

What to wear: Rome in the summer is as suggestive as it is hot, so better opt for a fresh and comfortable look to get around the city, like a shirt with shorts and coloful sandals. Comfortable but chic, versatile and adaptable to both dresses and shorts, for a perfect look from the toss of the coin at the Trevi Fountain to carbonara in Trastevere.

ISCHIA

The geranium that populates the volcanic island of the Gulf of Naples is the natural setting and colors the Max Mara Resort 2022 collection. Novelty as a fashion show location, Ischia would have to tell about the island style worn by the jet set that has marked it forever. Directly from the 1950s, caftans, linen suits and headscarves to protect themselves from the sun's rays, are ideal for a visit to the Aragonese Castle and a dip from the nearby beach.

What to wear: The right outfit? Bikini and caftan will be enough to go from the beaches of Chiaia, the Bay of San Montano or that of Sorgeto, to the thermal parks such as Poseidon, Negombo, the gardens of Aphrodite, the Terme di Castiglione, Bagnitiello and Cavascura.

LECCE

The bobbin embroideries of the Le Costantine Foundation, the lights of the Parisi Brothers, and the dancers of the La Notte della Taranta Foundation with the music of Paolo Buonvino marked Dior's Cruise 2021 and increased our desire to visit the baroque Lecce. The majestic Duomo in the so-called closed square because it is accessible only from Via Giuseppe Libertini is just one of the protagonists of the historical beauties of the Salento city. To name a few, the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Castle of Charles V, the Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate and of course the Salento with Punta Prosciutto, Punta della Suina and Porto Selvaggio.

What to wear: Green light to the "grandmother's doilies", in ecru and ivory tones, recalling the stone of the monuments in the light of the sunset or to the super colorful crochet that at the moment remains one of the coolest trends of the summer.

AGRIGENTO

Let's go back in time, but not too much, July 2019, Dolce & Gabbana chooses Agrigento to present its Haute Couture. And who would not choose the warm land colonized by the Greeks of which it still retains great treasures such as those of Valle dei Templi. If you want to go even further back in time, inside the Valley there is also the Pietro Griffo Regional Archaeological Museum, with 5688 artifacts from prehistoric times to the end of the Greco-Roman age. Is Sicily sea? A few kilometers from there stands the marvelous white marl coast known as the Scala dei Turchi. Unfortunately closed due to the risk of collapse, it is possible to enjoy its beauty from the sea with the help of experienced skippers in the area.

What to wear: Fresh fabrics like linen and cotton are more than necessary and it will be a cliché but with the straw bag you are perfect from morning to night. But the advice is not to put it in your suitcase, also because it is physically almost impossible, but buy it in a hand-made version by the masters 'ntrizzaturi: the artists of the weaving of the dried leaves of dwarf palm, who make hats, coffees (as they are called bags) and many other accessories. They will surprise you!
