California Sky, Fendi's Pre-Fall 2020 combines made in Italy, Black & White art and Californian street style. The collection marks the return of the partnership with visual artist Joshua Vides who, following last year's collaboration with the brand for a pop-up and a Peekaboo Bar hosted by Harrods, leaves his signature cartoon style on apparel and accessories.

The young Californian talent has been interested in graffiti and skateboarding culture since he was a child, so much so that when he was only 19 years old he launched his own streetwear brand called CLCS, but he became popular all over the world, growing into one of the most followed artists on Instagram, with his Reality to Idea project, which consists in covering everyday objects with black and white sketches.

The cartoon effect that Vides creates in his works now features every item in the collection: from nylon anoraks to cycling shorts, from beachwear to tees, from printed denim trousers to cardigans, from padded and reversible blousons to elegant pieces made of textured jacquard fabric. Accessories such as the iconic Peekaboo bag and Baguette bag are also revisited in trompe-l'oeil style, alternating sketches, floral patterns and FF logo. To amplify the 3D illusion, some pieces have shades of blue and purple touches, inspired by the Roman sky, which break the collection's two-tone aesthetic. 

The first part of the California Sky collection is already available online and in Fendi stores.
