Niche italian perfumes: the names to know

Alessandro Gualtieri

Alessandro Gualtieri is the visionary nose behind Nasomatto (founded in 2007) and Orto Parisi (launched in 2015). His creations are intense, uncompromising, and made to surprise. For him, fragrance isn't just about a "pleasant smell," but a way to express emotions, moods, and personal stories. "My work is a personal outlet, a way to express the emotions, moods, and visions that pass through me. That said, I believe a fragrance can evolve with the person who wears it. Everyone carries their own story, and the scent they choose can, in some way, reflect and amplify that narrative." His perfumes are true works of art, and the packaging perfectly completes them, reflecting the mood and concept behind each fragrance. Among his most iconic creations are Black Afgano, with notes of cannabis, oud, and incense; Pardon, with chocolate, cinnamon, and white flowers; and Risvelium, featuring citrus and amber notes.

Francesca Bianchi

Francesca Bianchi is the founder of the eponymous perfume house, established in 2016. Each of her fragrances is born from a personal inspiration, such as a journey or memory. She approaches perfume creation almost as a sacred ritual, saying: "In those silent and ecstatic moments when I blend raw materials, I truly feel like an alchemist. The goal isn’t simply to mix ingredients, but rather to transform them into something entirely new." Among her most distinctive creations are Angel’s Dust, a powdery scent with pink pepper, sandalwood, and rose, and Sticky Fingers, evoking the rock atmosphere of the '70s with patchouli, leather, tobacco, and tonka bean.

Giuseppe Imprezzabile

Giuseppe Imprezzabile is the mind and nose behind Meo Fuscini, a niche perfume brand founded in 2010. Giuseppe's passion for plants and their properties led him to travel. Over time, he chose to transform this love into an art form, creating fragrances that tell stories and evoke emotions inspired by his journeys and personal experiences. His scents are true poems, crafted to stir the soul: "The attentive listening of olfactory emotion during the journey, in the world around and within me. This is how my work begins, how the birth of a perfume takes shape along my path." Meo Fuscini’s bestseller is Luce, with incense, white flowers, and light woods; and Notturno, with incense, leather, and spices—an ode to writing and the silence of night.

Simone Andreoli

Simone Andreoli is a young Italian perfumer who created the brand Diario Olfattivo, a project that transforms emotions, memories, and travels into unique fragrances. Each perfume is like a page from a personal diary, where every note tells a story. As he says himself: "Perfume is a trigger for uncontrolled sensations that trace infinite paths to the most distant and intimate memories." One of his standout creations is Sunplosion, a tropical fruit explosion of lime, mango, and guava—perfect for this summer season.

Paolo Terenzi

Paolo Terenzi is the creative heart behind Tiziana Terenzi. Together with his sister Tiziana, the brand’s designer, he launched this fragrance house in 2012, known for its rich, complex, and bold creations. Each perfume is crafted from precious raw materials, and the bottles themselves are miniature works of art, perfectly reflecting the elegance of the Terenzi family. In an interview with Bynaso, Paolo described the collection as: "It represents a specific time in life when beauty touches the soul and a moment becomes eternal. These universal feelings turn into scented journeys captured in priceless perfume bottles." Among his most beloved creations are Kirke, a sweet fruity blend with passion fruit, warm sand, and vanilla; Andromeda, a creamy explosion of white flowers, coconut, and vanilla; and Delox, inspired by a boat trip through the Greek islands with notes of honey, coffee, rose, and amber.
