Liquid Hair: hacks to make your hair shine this spring The right habits to make your hair extra shiny and silky

For many, dull and lifeless hair is a constant battle that has been going on for years.  The problem is that there are so many variables that affect the health of your hair and cause damage and fragility: from dyeing your hair to blow-drying it, including products that are too aggressive and hairstyles that are too tight. So how do you get shiny, glossy hair without damaging it? It's all about the haircare routine. Adding a polishing spray or a smoothing conditioner once in a while is not enough; to make your hair silky, you need consistency and daily habits (not forgetting apple cider vinegar and a good glass of wine) which can transform dull hair into extra shiny hair

Forget Glass Hair, the top trend of 2018 for the "glass hair" effect, the latest hair trend is in fact called Liquid Hair: the name of this hair trend is inspired by the final effect obtained on the hair, with very shiny and silky cuticles that reflect the light almost as if the hair were wet. It's a smooth, compact style, but also full of movement that looks great on straight or wavy hair. An effect loved by celebrities and fashion shows, capable of transforming hair into a silky, shiny cascade. But let's start with the basics. There are two key moments in achieving truly shiny hair: cleansing and drying.

In addition to washing the hair with ad hoc products, in fact, for the shiny effect it is important to pour a solution created with apple cider vinegar and water on the scalp (no more than one tablespoon per half litre), leave it for between two and ten minutes before rinsing thoroughly with the cold shower jet. This grandmother's trick helps to flatten the hair cuticles which, in turn, can make the hair shinier. In addition, apple cider vinegar also helps to remove dandruff accumulations on the scalp, thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Obviously, the frequency of washing is also important: the aim should be to stress your hair as little as possible. So try to preserve the style as much as possible so that you can extend the time between shampoos.

When it comes to drying your hair, the glossy effect can also be obtained by avoiding excessive and prolonged heat. That's why it's important to towel-dry your hair with a microfibre towel to remove excess water. The key here is to be gentle, so don't rub the towel vigorously through your hair, as this can cause breakage and frizz. Next, spray a natural heat-protective spray evenly over damp hair. This step will allow you to limit the damage done to the follicles by thermal styling tools. Before moving on to the next step, your hair needs to be almost naturally dry and only then can you use the hair dryer. To do this, divide your hair into sections, securing the top layers with a barrette. Use a wide-tooth comb to comb through and start drying downwards, from the roots to the ends. Keep the hair dryer moving at all times to avoid concentrating too much heat on one particular section and causing damage. Once your hair is dry, use the cool setting and blow dry for about a minute to give it a little extra shine by sealing the cuticle. Finally, it's very important to use a deep nourishing and shine-enhancing oil instead of polishing sprays, which can ruin your hair in the long run due to harmful ingredients such as alcohol, parabens and sulphates. Last but certainly not least, a brush with natural bristles will allow you to drag the oils from the scalp to the ends. This will not only help prevent oily roots, but will also give your lengths a boost of natural shine and hydration.

But that's not all, diet also plays a key role in hair health. Those suffering from brittle hair should eat eggs: rich in biotin, they stimulate hair growth and generally contribute to the well-being of the scalp. Salmon, pulses, nuts, carrots and seafood are also good for strengthening hair. Extra-virgin olive oil is also a precious food for hair care: while too much is not good for you, too little will cause dry, dull and matted hair, so you should take at least a teaspoon a day. Foods rich in oils are also olives, peanuts and sunflower seeds. Last but not least, a good glass of wine with a meal (preferably red) can really be the best anti-hair loss solution as it can help improve the physiological condition of our hair.
