Leblon is the swimwear brand inspired by Brazilian culture Born in Verona to Anna Pricope and Pietro Pattaro
Leblon was born in Verona from an idea by Anna Pricope and Pietro Pattaro, brought together by their shared passion for music, art, and the cultural movements that leave a lasting mark on history. Before becoming a swimwear brand, Leblon is a creative project that tells stories about people, places, and cultures. Its bikinis are simply the medium through which those stories come to life.
Leblon: the swimwear brand inspired by Brazilian culture
The brand’s first source of inspiration is Brazil in the 1960s and 1970s—a period when music, fashion, art, and cultural revolution coexisted to create one of the most vibrant creative eras of the twentieth century. The brand itself takes its name from Leblon, the historic neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro and a symbol of a beach culture defined by freedom, spontaneity, and individual expression.
Friends long before becoming business partners, Anna and Pietro have always shared a deep fascination with this world. For Pietro, whose mother is Brazilian from Recife and whose father is a musician, it is part of his personal story. For Anna, the brand’s model and creative director, it is a constant source of inspiration fueled by her love for music, aesthetics, and the women who have redefined their own era.
The story behind Leblon: Anna Pricope and Pietro Pattaro
It is from this shared vision that Leblon was born. Just as the Tropicalist movement blended different influences to create something entirely new, the brand emerges from the meeting of different worlds: local craftsmanship meets European sensibility, nostalgia meets the contemporary, and beachwear becomes a language for telling stories of identity, culture, and freedom.
Musa Tropical: Leblon’s debut collection inspired by music and female icons
The first collection, Musa Tropical, draws inspiration from a selection of women who helped define the culture of that era. Alongside iconic names from Brazilian music, it also features Ornella Vanoni, reflecting a vision that transcends geographical boundaries and celebrates women who have left a lasting mark on culture, music, and art. For this reason, Leblon does not see itself as a brand tied exclusively to one country. That world is simply the first chapter of a much broader narrative: each collection is inspired by a place, a cultural scene, or a historical moment capable of sparking new ideas and emotions.
Made in Brazil: Leblon’s slow fashion philosophy
Every piece is made in Brazil through a mindful and responsible production process, far removed from the logic of fast fashion. The goal is to create products designed to stand the test of time, both in terms of quality and meaning.
A creative community built around art, music, and beachwear
Around the project, a creative community has also taken shape, bringing together professionals from different disciplines. A team personally assembled by Anna based on mutual respect and a shared artistic sensibility. Photography, video, graphic design, and communication all become part of a common vision, helping to build something that goes far beyond the product itself. More than a swimwear label, Leblon aims to be a community built around music, art, the sea, and freedom of expression. Because every collection begins with an imaginary world. The swimsuit is simply the way that vision takes shape.
