The story of Dobu begins as spontaneously as possible. During a meeting, Elisa - passionate about manga since adolescence - draws an imaginary heroine. At her feet there are no futuristic boots or fantasy accessories, but a ballerina completely different from any other. That design, born almost for fun, becomes the starting point of a project destined to become reality together with Domenico and Marco, friends even before partners, united by the desire to rethink a sector in which innovation often seems to be limited to aesthetics. From that intuition, Dobu takes shape, defined by the brand as the first Japanese Ballerina: an essential silhouette, with a contemporary character, that combines the lightness of the classic Mary Jane. An object designed not to impose a style, but to leave room for personal interpretation.

Hukup: the patent for the transformable and customizable ballerina

The heart of the project is in fact the transformation. Thanks to the innovative HUKUPTM system, developed and patented by Dobu after more than a year of research, the shoe can be disassembled, reassembled and customized with extreme ease. The ribbons can give way to scarves, fabrics, laces or elements freely chosen by the wearer. The same silhouette changes character, going from essential to theatrical, from minimalist to romantic, from graphic to playful.
