The point of contact dates back to the mid-17th century and is linked to the story of Richard Tydings and Charity Tydings: a couple of English settlers who arrived in Maryland to start a new life in the New World. From their two daughters, the two descendants that led to Hollywood have branched out. The paternal branch of Dakota Johnson (daughter of actor Don Johnson) descends from her younger daughter Mary, born in 1683. The family line of her older sister Pretitia, born in 1675, leads centuries later to Gladys Mortenson and her daughter Norma Jeane, who later became famous with the surname of her maternal grandmother, Monroe.
