Everything you don't know about Barbie The Album Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, Lizzo, Ryan Gosling and more

The year 2023 will be remembered as the year of the great cinematic battle between two colossal productions: Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Oppenheimer. Both films, characterized by extraordinary budgets, have not underestimated the importance of their soundtracks. However, while Barbie fans can already immerse themselves indefinitely in the lively world of pink dreams with Barbie The Album available on Spotify and Apple Music, produced by none other than the legendary Mark Ronson, we'll have to wait for the Italian release of the Oppenheimer soundtrack. The soundtrack of Barbie, carefully curated by Ronson and the film's director Greta Gerwig, is a true triumph. Its audacity is evident from the eclectic selection of artists who have contributed to perfectly capturing the atmosphere of Barbie's world. With names like Khalid, The Kid LAROI, HAIM, Tame Impala, and Dominic Fike, the album becomes an extraordinary fusion of musical styles.

Among the 17 tracks, Pink stands out, a refined disco song performed by the charismatic Lizzo. But it is Billie Eilish who gives a pulsating heart to the entire album with What Was I Made For, a touching song that reveals Barbie's existential reflections. Eilish's whispering voice, coupled with delicate arrangements, succeeds in conveying the doll's deepest and darkest secret, emotionally engaging the listener. However, not every track on the album can be described as a revelation. Despite some pleasant surprises, such as Ryan Gosling's unexpectedly talented performance in the song I'm Just Ken, there are also disappointments. Some of the contributions from notable artists result in uninspired tracks, like Speed Drive by Charli XCX and Choose Your Fighter by Ava Max. Ronson and Gerwig have managed to transform the album into a unique experience, embracing the diversity of sounds and voices to create a soundtrack that aligns perfectly with the world of Barbie. Whether enchanting or haunting, the music of Barbie The Album is undoubtedly a prominent element in this epic cinematic challenge.
