Dries Van Noten Beauty presents Velvet Violet, an ode to one of the most enigmatic flowers in perfumery, reinterpreted in a contemporary and far from nostalgic key. Like the velvet from which it takes its name, the fragrance is fluid and enveloping, but its character is revealed through the encounter with sesame. Together, they create a luminous composition, multifaceted and crossed by sophisticated warmth.

Velvet Violet is Dries Van Noten's new perfume

Created by Gaël Montero, the fragrance belongs to the Woody Floral Gourmand family. From the first notes, a distinctive duality emerges: the violet - green, fresh and delicately fruity - is interpreted giving preference to the leaf rather than the flower, thus taking on a modern and unexpected profile. In contrast, sesame unfolds in a toasted accord with rich and gourmet nuances. “I wanted to create an incandescent violet, suspended between light and dark, in which the ethereal, powdery breath of the flower reveals the fiery intensity of toasted sesame,” says Montero.

This olfactory dialogue evolves harmoniously on the skin. The opening is vibrant: the violet is enhanced by pink pepper, while the heart introduces a more intense dimension thanks to sesame and barley. In the base, vetiver and tonka bean give depth to the composition, leaving a warm and persistent trail. In continuity with the entire fragrance collection, the refillable bottle represents an artistic expression of the perfume itself: the semi-transparent glass, in a deep purple hue, meets a base decorated with a graphic motif inspired by sesame seeds. Translating this olfactory language into color, Dries Van Noten also introduces three new lipstick shades, whose names and shades draw on the Maison's fashion universe.

Peach Punk is radiant and luminous, with a sheer, shiny effect. Grunge Plum, more intense but always transparent, dresses the lips in a refined berry-colored shade. Rose Taboo, with a satin finish, enhances the lips with a sophisticated powdery pink shade. Light, hydrating and modular, the lipsticks are enriched with rosehip oil, which leaves the lips soft and smooth.

The Maison's new beauty ritual

As a final gesture of the Maison, the scented blotting papers for lips (perfumed absorbent papers for the lips) introduce a delicate and ephemeral ritual. Light and discreet, they allow you to play with the intensity of the color while leaving a subtle violet-scented trace: a sensory imprint that persists on the lips.
