What does September 2026 have in store for us? We asked the tarot cards Death, Justice, and the Ace of Pentacles speak to us of new beginnings and opportunities

September is always that month that seems to start too early and end too soon. We do nothing but repeat “I’ll do it in September,” only for January to become the new September, while we decide to let time figure out whether whatever we wanted to start was actually worth it. But since we can’t keep putting everything off forever, we have to convince ourselves that, really, all we need to do is figure out which direction to take. Does it work? No, never. But it’s nice to pretend we might suddenly find that little burst of courage that could finally get things moving, even if it’s just enough momentum to sign up for the gym or send that email that could help us at work or school. It all comes down to that moment when we say, “Okay, I can do this. Let’s try.”

What should we keep in mind in September 2026?

This month, I want to give myself and all of you a little helping hand. I asked the cards to help us understand how to approach the month ahead and, more broadly, what might be waiting for us over the next few months. What should we keep in mind? What could actually help us reach the end of the year feeling a little more aware of ourselves and, perhaps, a little more at peace? Let’s remember, though, that tarot cards don’t provide certain answers. They offer suggestions and impressions and, at most, can help us look at what is happening from a different perspective. Life is already complicated enough, right?

The Tarot Cards for September 2026

Death

September could make us realise that some things simply don’t interest us as much as they used to. We might notice it during a conversation with someone who perhaps no longer has anything to give us, with someone we no longer feel the need to chase, or even through a habit that, just a few months ago, seemed absolutely essential to our lives. It’s not the world that has changed. We have. The Death tarot card reminds us that even a version of ourselves can eventually reach a point where we realise we can’t keep behaving as we did before, because everything starts to feel a little forced. No unnecessary drama, no explanations that might only make things worse. Some things simply end, and this time we can stop trying to save them. If, in September 2026, we feel less and less like going back, maybe we should listen to that feeling.

Justice

This September could force us to look at a situation for what it really is, without all those useless excuses we tell ourselves when we don’t feel like dealing with it. We are perfectly capable of recognising when something doesn’t add up, when we are the ones giving too much, or even when we keep saying “let’s see how it goes” because taking a position makes us a little anxious. Maybe we also need to ask ourselves what part we played in all of this, without turning every mistake into a personal failure. The Justice tarot card asks us to stop telling ourselves stories and accept the facts for what they are, even when they’re not particularly convenient. We don’t necessarily need to be right. We need to understand what the situation is telling us and make sure we have all the information we need before choosing whether to take a side or not.

Ace of Pentacles

Something very concrete could arrive just when we’ve stopped expecting the big plot twist. It could be a job opportunity, an idea that finally stops being just an idea, or something much simpler that makes us think that maybe, MAYBE, it’s worth giving it a shot. The Ace of Pentacles tarot card isn’t about beautiful prospects destined to last three days. It’s about something that could genuinely become part of our lives if we give it a little attention and some of our time. Maybe that’s exactly what we need in September, after a summer spent thinking a lot about what we want to do without necessarily knowing where to start. There’s no need to have everything figured out already or to know for certain how things will develop six months from now. Maybe the opportunity we’ve been waiting for won’t arrive with fireworks. Maybe it will simply show up, and we can make sure we’re ready for it. Just a little bit, though. Otherwise, where’s the fun?
