Nail trends that will dominate this fall 2025 Many new trends, but also many comebacks that (perhaps) you didn't expect
Every season has its own trends: this summer we were overwhelmed by old school french nails and polka dots in every possible variation (seriously, we’d had enough). Now that the days are getting cooler and shorts and sandals are back in the closet, only one question remains: what are we putting on our nails this fall 2025? We did some scouting and spoiler alert: expect major comebacks as well as new styles to try right away.
Nail trends that will dominate fall 2025
Silk veil nails
If you love having your hands simply neat and clean, without flashy polishes or kitschy designs, this trend is made for you. The effect on the nails is super natural: it doesn’t cover or mask them, but evens out the tone while letting your natural base show through, as if wrapped in a delicate silk veil.
Japanese gel nails
Japanese gel nails are a great alternative to the classic gel manicure. They last much longer (up to a full month, depending on regrowth) and are considered healthier, as they contain ingredients that nourish and protect the natural nail. The secret lies in the Japanese gels, which have a softer and thinner consistency that avoids the usual hard plastic effect on the nail. Plus, they deliver a glossy finish, rich colors and maximum versatility for any nail art you want to try.
Duck nails
We thought Y2K trends were finally gone for good, but the harsh reality is that Pandora’s box is deeper than expected. The comeback that millennials probably feared the most (yes, maybe even more than low-rise skinny jeans) is finally here: duck nails. Flared outward like a duck’s beak, they’re definitely niche and a bit unusual, but one thing’s for sure: you’ll be seeing them more and more on the feeds of your favorite nail artists.
Oval shape
Maybe it’s because the old money charm and preppy style are making a strong comeback, but the oval shape is increasingly in demand, spotted on celebrities’ nails and beyond. Classic and elegant, this shape always stays chic, with that touch of quiet luxury that works best with a bold red polish.
Elegant charms and nail art
Nail accessories don’t have to be kitsch. Elegant charms and small details are what transform a simple manicure into something special without overdoing it. Mini pearls, rhinestones, metallic charms and minimal decorations: the trick is little but strategic, because less really is more, leaving the final effect chic and sophisticated.
