5 must-haves from Jacquemus FW21 fashion show

A year after the wheat fields of L'Amour, Jacquemus is back with La Montagne, a see now buy now show full of references to the world of hiking. Abandoning the bucolic atmospheres, Simon Porte Jacquemus recreates a sort of abstract still life version of a hiking trail inside a hall in Saint Denis, painting the walls sky blue and the floor as green as a meadow of grass. In this scenario that seems to have come out of a child's drawing, in front of a small group of guests including the singer Rosalía and Alice Pagani, models alternate, from Kendall Jenner to Bella Hadid, from Jill Kortleve to Adut Akech, turned into colorful and sexy hikers.

Standing out on the color blocked path are the FW21 collection pieces that, as the show goes on, move from earthy gravel tones to hot pink, to fiery red, then to soft blue, and in the end to black. 

I wanted to focus on the clothes, the silhouettes, the colors, The fabrics, the details and the energy of the models.  - Explains Simon Porte talking about his new creations - I wanted the set to be minimal and sharp, recreating an abstract artistic mountain that portrays the inspiration of the collection.

The result is a post-gorpcore take on the Jacquemus style. There are still all the signature items of the brand such as the Chiquito bag (becoming more and more mini), the bodycon dress with cut-out details, the crochet bralettes and, above all, the baby cardigans. The tops, whether simple tees, bra or blouses, are cropped, as are the outerwear. The lengths of shearling, down jackets and jackets become shorter and shorter and, as in the '90s, they are worn over bell-bottomed jazz pants or baggy pants. Also from the decade of Nirvana and Spice Girls, the skirt-pants combo is back in the spotlight.
