Jil Sander Resort 2021 collection

Minimal, elegant, timeless, playing with shapes and volumes

Jil Sander Resort 2021 collection Minimal, elegant, timeless, playing with shapes and volumes

Jil Sander's Resort 2021 collection plays with opposites: strength and sensitivity, male and female. The cocoon shapes acquire a new fluidity that makes the garments comfy, warm. The clean, masculine cuts are enhanced by a palette of delicate colors ranging from ecru to caramel, from blue to gray, from white to black and tells a minimal, whispered elegance.

The craftsmanship of natural fabrics such as Japanese and Italian wool, cashmere, cotton, linen and silk follows the movements of the body and balances the proportions. The width of the silhouettes finds its natural counterpoint in shirts and trousers with precise cuts; double-breasted jackets are oversized, but they can become more fit and feminine with belts or worn with soft and light dresses; jackets are decorated by extra sleeves, embellished with crochet details; asymmetrical skirts alternate with cargo pants.

Accessories are also an essential part of the collection: the geometric shapes and volumes of the bags and sandals are functional and cozy, real seashells embellish necklaces and jewel bags. A floral pattern that recalls the Garden of Eden decorates the garments and pays homage to nature.

Lucie and Luke Meier design essential pieces, with a warm, enveloping and unexpected minimalism. They write a poem with cuts and fabrics which is renewed season after season.
