There's a story behind every front row
Fashion month is everything we could want: style, drama and cross-overs from our favorite celebrities
March 4th, 2025
The fashion month is the most anticipated event of the year for fashion enthusiasts—not only to admire the extraordinary creations of haute couture maisons but also to indulge in some gossip. While the runways are the heart of fashion, the real spectacle unfolds in the audience, particularly in the front row, which captures everyone's attention. Each show is a unique opportunity to see who occupies the most exclusive seats and why, with celebrities and influencers competing to be seen, wearing outfits that we’ll be talking about for days.
Who sits next to whom, how they interact, what they wear—these details are key to shaping new trends and observing how fashion and pop culture deeply intertwine. The front row, in many ways, becomes a runway of its own.
Kim Kardashian and Anna Wintour in Fendi's Front Row

During Fendi’s runway show a couple of years ago, cameras captured a scene straight out of Gossip Girl. In the viral clip, Kim Kardashian can be seen smiling excitedly at Anna Wintour as the legendary Vogue USA editor-in-chief approaches—only to ignore her and go straight to Sarah Jessica Parker for a warm embrace. Were they on bad terms? Back in 2014, there were even rumors that Wintour had banned Kim Kardashian from attending the Met Gala.
A similar moment unfolded at Victoria Beckham’s runway show. Fans speculated that Anna Wintour snubbed Kim Kardashian once again. In some videos, the Skims founder is seen sitting next to Wintour, who then stands up and moves away. However, it was later confirmed that Anna and Kim remained seated together for the entire show. It’s believed that Wintour, who was sitting between Kim and David Beckham, got up momentarily but soon returned.
Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat at Schiaparelli
The front row of Schiaparelli SS23 was anything but subtle, with Twitter comparing it to the extravagant Capitol fashion shows from The Hunger Games. Kylie Jenner embodied her zodiac sign perfectly, while Doja Cat... well, she stayed true to herself.

Kylie wore a custom Schiaparelli strapless gown with a sleek, fitted silhouette and luxurious crushed velvet fabric. The standout feature? A gigantic, hyper-realistic lion’s head attached to the dress, its mane covering one side of her body and brushing against her chin. However, she was completely overshadowed by Doja Cat, who was covered head to toe in 30,000 hand-applied crimson Swarovski crystals, matching her beaded, strapless crimson gown. Fans on Twitter joked about their brief conversation in the viral video, with one user commenting, "You can feel the tension," while others speculated on why they exchanged so few words.
Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour (Or Andy and Miranda?)
Over 15 years later, we still can’t get The Devil Wears Prada out of our heads. Seeing Anne Hathaway seated next to Anna Wintour immediately gave fans flashbacks, thanks to her uncanny resemblance to Andy Sachs. For the Tom Ford SS23 show, Hathaway’s stylist delighted us with an inside joke: recreating not just the outfit but also Andy’s iconic hairstyle, with soft bangs and an elegant updo—cementing her status as a 2000s fashion icon.
This isn’t the first time Anne Hathaway has channeled Andy’s style—she did it again at Valentino Haute Couture FW22. Seeing these two fashion icons side by side at a New York event instantly recalls the scene where Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly sit together in Paris. Did they talk about the film? That remains a mystery.
