Cozy games to play in spring and summer
To relax in the world of pixels
May 5th, 2025
Ah, springtime. The season when cherry blossoms take center stage in countless stories and social media posts, and allergies keep us company from the first moment we step outside. It’s also the perfect time for picnics on the grass, strolls through parks, and why not, maybe even taking advantage of the good weather for a barbecue with friends. The current gaming landscape offers many titles perfect for this season, especially for those who (thanks to those aforementioned allergies) find themselves stuck indoors just to be able to breathe. Or for those who prefer to enjoy the other side of spring (those rain showers that reliably ruin our moods and social plans), well, playing video games is an excellent pastime. So why not dive into something relaxing... in pixel format?
Here are five cozy games to enjoy this spring!
Stardew Valley
Imagine inheriting a farm from your grandfather. In Pelican Town, in Stardew Valley, you decide what to grow, who to befriend, and (if you wish) who to marry. The possibilities are endless, even if the graphics are “limited” (forget about The Last of Us and the like, here we’re talking pure pixel art). The open-world RPG from ConcernedApe was released in 2016 but still feels fresh thanks to its engaging plot (you can choose to either continue your grandfather’s farming legacy or let Joja Corp turn the valley into a warehouse). No matter if you choose a male or female protagonist, you can marry whoever you want. Of course, the most sought-after bachelor remains Harvey, the town doctor, but you can also win the heart of the beautiful Haley or the eclectic Elliott. How will you organize your farm? The game is available on all major gaming platforms, including iOS and Android.
Grow: Song of the Evertree
A game where players learn to become one with nature, growing seeds and creating new habitable worlds so that the Evertree, once suffering, can flourish again. Grow: Song of the Evertree is a video game to take slowly: there are no strict deadlines, just a few mandatory steps before unlocking new areas. Don't rush it — it would only spoil the experience. It feels like wandering through a vast, colorful garden filled with adorable creatures to befriend (and later relocate to different zones according to your taste). You can customize areas based on what you want to produce or the inhabitants you wish to attract. Naturally, your avatar is customizable too, making it fun to experiment with different looks. Most importantly, experiment with alchemy to create the seeds necessary to grow the Evertree: it’s all in your hands. Grow: Song of the Evertree is available on Nintendo Switch, PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The Gardens Between

A relatively short game where memories are everything. Developed by Australian studio The Voxel Agents, The Gardens Between follows two friends, Arina and Frendt, who set off from a treehouse on a dreamlike journey through islands built from their memories. This is a video game heavily focused on visuals and gameplay, where players must solve puzzles embedded in the islands to progress through the story and levels. An interesting mechanic is the manipulation of time, which players can move forward and backward using simple yet innovative gameplay. The game is available on all major gaming platforms, including iOS and Android for a can't-miss mobile gaming experience.
Tiny Glade
@ayadejskdh3 built hogwarts in tiny glade bc its never too early for a harry potter christmas #tinyglade #cozygames #harrypotter #harrypottertok #hogwarts original sound - cozycafeconlechin
Building castles has never been so relaxing. A classic sandbox and cozy game where players use the mouse to build towers, walls, and even ruins. There are no actual levels or challenges — just the pure, simple joy of creating. Players have a variety of tools to construct cottages and castles with a warm and welcoming graphic style. You can even create ruins, anything you like, day or night, filling the empty fields. Have you ever seen a medieval castle at sunset? Isn't it romantic? Tiny Glade is available on PC (Windows).

Learn how to run your own café in this cozy game by TapBlaze, packed with details — and customers! It’s the “sequel” to Good Pizza, Great Pizza, and the gameplay is quite similar: instead of making pizzas, this time you'll be juggling coffees, cappuccinos, and other hot beverages, all while listening to the stories of more than 200 unique customers, each with their own backstory. The game was developed by people who truly tried to capture the real-life barista experience, even attending courses to make everything as authentic and relaxing as possible. The game is currently available for free (with in-app purchases) on iOS and Android, but if it follows the path of its predecessor, it may soon arrive on major gaming consoles at an affordable price.
