Milan Fashion Week FW21: the best beauty looks

From Marco Rambaldi's looks inspired by Euphoria to the shapes and symmetry in Prada's hairstyles

Milan Fashion Week FW21: the best beauty looks From Marco Rambaldi's looks inspired by Euphoria to the shapes and symmetry in Prada's hairstyles

This edition of Milan Fashion Week, entirely digital, has just ended, unveiling the collections for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2021-22. Like most of the collections, even the beauty looks show a new authenticity: for each model a look is designed to enhance them with extreme naturalness, without distorting their features or hiding their imperfections. This is the fil rouge, the real beauty trend of this last Fashion Week in Milan. Even beauty gurus like Pat McGrath and Guido Palau, who have become legends also thanks to their unconventional make-up and hairstyles, this year decided to slow down, giving us unforgettable looks in their simplicity.

ETRO

Etro choose Sam McKnight and Wella for the hairstyles of its models: hair left natural, in most cases, and sometimes gathered in "Sharon Tate-style" braids, which fall soft on the sides of the face, or that collect the whole hair. The make-up, by Petros Petrohilos, is natural, almost nude, apart from a smokey eye to frame the eyes of the models.

PRADA

Prada picks up where they started with the SS21 collection, the first of the Raf Simons-Miuccia couple. The famous hairstylist Guido Palau plays with geometric lines and symmetries, wet looks and structured mulletsPat McGrath, iconic make-up artist of reference for the brand, creates a luminous make-up playing with a slight glow effect and gold and silver eyeshadows.

MARCO RAMBALDI

There are three keywords for Marco Rambaldi's beauty looks: Euphoria, glitter, color. The inspiration, for the collection as well as for the make-up by Marco Zita of @mksmilano, comes from the 70s and from the most popular TV series of recent years. Lots of glitters under the lower eyelid, stars, pastel-colored eyeshadow, pearls framing the eyes and faces of models create genderless and romantic looks.

ERMANNO SCERVINO

It was Pierpaolo Lai - hairstylist and global brand ambassador of milk_shake - who created the hair styles of Ermanno Scervino's latest show with his team: the hair is left natural, embellished with soft, super soft and unstructured waves. Blow dry prime from the milk_shake lifestyling line was used on longer hair, while incredible milk was applied to the lengths on finer and drier hair; finally, milk_shake amazing was used on frizzier hair. As a final touch, all the models' looks have been finished and fixed with medium hairspray from the milk_shake lifestyling range, ideal for maintaining the stylist's desired natural effect. The make-up is also natural, nude, almost invisible, giving the models a perfect complexion and a delicate light.

N°21

N°21 models walked the runway with soft and natural, almost messy hairstyles, made by Paolo Soffiatti supported by TONI&GUY Art Team with L'Oreal, decorated with single jeweled earrings that sprout between the locks and illuminate face and hair. The focus of make up by Luciano Chiarello is all on the eyes: with Shiseido products he created a black cat eye that fades to silver in the lower inner part of the eye, giving a point of light to the look.

MAX MARA

Here, the focus of the make-up is on the eyes again: "smudged" effect smokey eyes in an opaque olive green, strictly without mascara, surrounds the eyes of the models. The hair is loose or gathered, always natural, based on their natural conformation. Some looks are enriched with silk scarves and maxi sunglasses.
