Italian tights brands you may not have known about But that will solve all your winter looks

After years of being a secondary accessory, tights are back in the spotlight this autumn/winter. On the catwalks of FW23, they were once again declared a trend. Almost every brand, from Miu Miu to Jacquemus, Dolce & Gabbana to Chanel, as well as celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Julia Fox, have been wearing them all the time recently. Colourful (red ones are almost a seasonal must-have), sheer, beige and a bit granny, with embroidery or cool graphics, it doesn't matter as long as your legs are no longer bare. And legions of shivering women thank you, promising to wear them with everything from mini skirts to dresses, loafers to boots.

There are so many declinations and brands to choose from, from every price range and nationality. There are well-known giants like Calzedonia and Wolford, the German Falke, the English Heist Studios, the French Les Belles, Saint Saiss, famous for customised tights or the younger Swedish Stockings, which has a production of sustainable tights in Italy and also the popular Leandra Medine Cohen. But what about the little realities made in Italy? G-Club has selected a few that you may not yet know about.

TYTM8

How can you make your way in the fashion world? By choosing an almost untouched, forgotten niche and developing something unique. That's what Arianna and Sasha did, combining their cultural backgrounds (Italian and English) to create TYTM8. Their unisex and gender fluid brand puts a new twist on a classic and traditionally boring market with fun and cheeky socks and tights. The two designers rummaged through old albums, boxes and drawers and found photos of their grandmothers and family members, which, with a few modern graphic interventions, became the quirky prints of their products. Kitschy, pop and fun.

Maison Soksi

Luxury and underground style mix in the creations of Maison Soksi since its foundation in February 2019. The mission of Andrea Giorgini, the founder and creative director? To produce innovative tights and socks with eye-catching colours and graphics that allow the wearer to express themselves freely. All garments are designed in Milan and manufactured in Mantua and Venice. PLANETA, the brand's latest collection, was also photographed in Paris by photographer Theo Liu.

Le Flù Flù Italy

Giraffes, elephants and swans are the funny and cute protagonists that characterise the colourful tights from Le FlùFlù Italy. Made entirely in Italy from 30 denier microfibre yarns, the tights combine an almost childlike, tender spirit with the desire to surprise, to add a personal and playful detail to even the most monotonous winter look.

Emilio Cavallini

4 decades of design innovation, where fashion and art come together. The universe of Emilio Cavallini, the man who has been transforming socks into more than just an accessory since the 1960s, is made up of a story with eternal appeal. There are the black and white creations for Mary Quant and the transparent stockings with dots, which were created by a fault in the textile machine and became cult for Dior, but also coloured, white, optical, dotted, striped or graphically patterned tights. For more than 40 years, the brand has been conquering women all over the world, including Lady Gaga, who wore Emilio Cavallini's diamond tights in Joker.

Calzitaly

Tights of all kinds: from elegant to fun, from classic to graduated, designed for every person and size. The universe of Calzitaly, a brand of Calzificio Schinelli, a family business in the Mantua region that has been producing high-quality hosiery since 1960, combines expertise and tradition with current trends. The result? There are sure to be the right tights for you.
