Dark spots treatments to prepare the skin for the first sun

How to make spots less evident and prevent them

Dark spots treatments to prepare the skin for the first sun How to make spots less evident and prevent them

Whether they are the result of sun exposure, photosensitising medications or hormonal factors, skin discolourations can be eliminated or significantly reduced, especially if the spots are newly formed. In fact, the deeper the spot is, the longer it will take to reduce it, because it was formed a long time ago. So, with a lot of patience, to minimise these imperfections, we can consider using a face cream or an anti-stain serum, even in view of the first sun. Thanks to their targeted depigmentation action, these ad hoc products make it possible to even out the complexion and lighten the spots left by the passage of time.

A very effective element in this type of product is glycolic acid, an ingredient with an exfoliating effect that removes the 'old' cells responsible for the darker colour of the spots. However, given the strong principle behind anti-darkspot creams, it is advisable to always use them with sun protection, or even to buy them directly with sun filters.

It is also worth remembering that, as a general rule, products of the lightning or depigmenting type are used before or after summer, throughout autumn and winter until late spring. The reason for this is that they often contain exfoliating acids that can react with the sun, making the skin very irritable. It is, therefore, a good idea to stop using them as soon as you are exposed to the sun. There are, however, some skin-lightening products that do not contain exfoliating acids but do contain non-photo sensitising substances, i.e. they can be used safely in summer. This is the case, for example, with arbutin, vine extract or liquorice, which slow down the synthesis of melanin, counteracting its uneven and excessive distribution in the layers of the epidermis. If you go out in the sun, you still get a tan, but a better one. And without the risk of darkening existing spots or the appearance of new ones. They can be used under the sun to boost the protective shield.
