Durante la Design Week la città di Milano è in attivissimo fermento. Le persone esplorano, corrono ad appuntamenti e istallazioni, si fermano ad ammirare palazzi e opere di design. Il capoluogo lombardo, già frenetico, si colora ulteriormente, come sempre velocissimo. Al Circolo Filologico Milanese in Via Clerici 10, però, il tempo scorre in maniera diversa, ponderata e riflessiva, tra libri, performance e chiacchiere letterarie con esponenti di spicco dell'editoria al femminile - italiani e internazionali. È il Miu Miu Literary Club, organizzato dalla maison per riscoprire e far riscoprire le grandi scrittrici dimenticate. Una due giorni di appuntamenti imperdibili, cultura e poesia intitolato Writing Life, volto a svelare in tutta la sua forza il potere della scrittura come mezzo creativo che ha consentito alle donne di esprimere i propri pensieri, desideri e ideologie, affermando la propria indipendenza e lasciandola in eredità alle generazioni future.

Miu Miu Literary Club: un programma ricchissimo

Il 17 aprile la scrittrice e curatrice Lou Stoppard ha moderato un illuminante dibattito tra la vincitrice del premio Pulitzer Jhumpa Lahiri, la finalista al Premio Strega Claudia Durastanti e l’autrice acclamata dalla critica Sheila Heti. Il punto di partenza è stato il Quaderno proibito di Alba De Céspedes, del 1952. Una indagine su cosa vuol dire scrivere un diario, su come la forme diaristica sia stata per tanto tempo la prediletta dalle donne e di cosa vuol dire oggi, nel 2024, scrivere un diario da madri, donne e scrittrici, in un delicato equilibrio tra finzione e realtà, tra pubblico e privato. La conclusione? Le donne hanno un linguaggio proprio, diverso da tutti gli altri, e anche per questo meritano uno spazio pubblico. A introdurre Tina Kunakey.

E una cornice che riporta ai salotti letterari

Dopo i partecipatissimi talk è stato il momento di immergersi nella poesia, con performance artistiche e musicali che si sono tenute nell'esclusivo salotto dal sapore novecentesco, tra comode poltrone, drink, food e naturalmente libri. Il primo giorno la slam poetry di Serena Braida e di John Glacier hanno fatto da intrattenimento e da spunto di riflessione per il pubblico, seguita dall'esibizione musicale di Arlo Parks. Il secondo giorno è stato il turno di John Glacier e Mathilde Fernandez, con live di Aziya.
