5 vintage inspired kicks for spring/summer They pay homage to the timeless aesthetic of the 90s and are perfect with any spring and summer look

Spring has arrived, so it's time to ditch the chunky boots and replace them with bright and comfy sneakers. Because of their sporty/casual look, vintage-inspired sneakers have been a long-lasting trend, perfect for pairing with any spring/summer outfit.

So, to keep your feet looking fresh in the hotter months, nss G-Club compiled a list of underrated sneakers from the last couple of years. Which pay homage to the timeless aesthetic of the 90s. All of which can be found for less than €100.

Nike Air Max Triax 96

The first sneaker on this list is a reissue of Nike's Air Max Triax 96. The sneaker first debuted in 1996 and became popular among athletes when US sprinter Gwen Torrence rocked them on the cover of Sports Illustrated that year. The sneaker made a comeback 23 years later, remaining true to its original design, complete with a huge air unit. Nike continues to release a number of vibrant colorways, including Magma Orange and Ash Purple.

Adidas Originals Response CL

Last year, Adidas also went through their archives, reinventing running technologies as well as the chunky essence of 2000s sneakers. Sporting a breathable mesh upper, and layered leather panels similar to that of the Adidas Cushion from 2003. AdiPRENE foam and FORMOTION technology are contained within the sole to soften each and every step. Plus, the brand's signature three stripes run down the side panels, mostly in bright colors. Another nod to the iconic adidas runners from the early 2000s.

New Balance 827

In 2020, New Balance drew a lot of attention towards its 827 model when it revealed three exclusive colourways in collaboration with Aime Leon Dore. Those pairs were incredibly difficult to obtain at the time, and are still hard to come by now. Since then, New Balance has released a slew of new colorways that are just as good. This sneaker is great for casual wear, with ABZORB technology in the midsole, though still channeling its original 90s runner look.

ASICS-GEL 1090

Continuing on the "dad sneaker/runner" theme, we come across the ASICS-GEL 1090 silhouette. The upper of the sneakers is made of lightweight mesh and leather, and it sits atop a cushy GEL-cushioned midsole, evoking the aesthetic of the original 2003 model.Metallic highlights throughout, add a futuristic touch that compliments the nostalgic design of the sneakers. Finishing off with ASICS signature enhanced caging on the side panels.

PUMA Cell Endura

Last but not least, the Puma Cell Endura. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its most innovative CELL technology, Puma reimagined the 1998 Cell Endura sneaker in 2018. In comparison to the original, the latest version has very few modifications. One of those changes was a slimmer toe box for a more modernized and sleek appearance. The upper, on the other hand, remains quite complex. Including the standout ingenious lacing system, and transparent bubbles that expose the cushioning in the midsole.
