Friends apartments becomes a LEGO set

With the announcement of the release date of the Friends Reunion, LEGO presented its new set dedicated to the most beloved sitcom of the 90s. Following the proposal of the miniature version of Central Perk, the Danish company has recreated with 2048 of its colored bricks the apartments of Monica and Rachel, Chandler and Joey and the corridor that separated them.

Following the success of the LEGO ideas central perk set, we wanted to develop another tribute to this iconic TV show with a focus on the famous apartments. - Said Anderson Ward Grubb, LEGO set designer - We worked directly from production photos of the set as well as watching and re-watching a lot of episodes so we could capture as many iconic moments as possible. one fun challenge was figuring out how to represent some aspects that change over the course of the show that appear in some episodes and not in others. I am looking forward to seeing if the eagle-eyed fans will spot them.

Inside the new set, in fact, there are many details and objects that refer to the cult scenes of the series created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman: from the turkey in which Monica put her head on Thanksgiving to the canoe with which Joey and Chandler had decorated their living room; from Phoebe's dollhouse to the giant poking device used to check if the naked neighbor was still alive; from Mrs. Braverman's cheesecake to the chick and the duck. Of course, there are also the minifigures of the protagonists, dressed in their most memorable looks. Everyone's included: Rachel in a plaid skirt; Monica in an apron; Joey in Vetements style wearing all of Chandler's clothes; Ross in leather pants; Chandler in a suit and tie; Phoebe in a floral outfit; and even Janice in an animalier look and a fuchsia handbag. To make the set even more realistic LEGO also added lights. 

The LEGO FRIENDS apartment set will be available at the brand's online store from June 1, 2021 for €149.99.
