Angus Cloud's best scenes in Euphoria and what his colleagues said about him A remembrance of the actor who died suddenly at the age of 25

Angus Cloud, aka Fezco of Euphoria, has died aged just 25. The family announced this in a statement without naming the cause of death of the actor, who was found lifeless in his Oakland home, but recalled his battle with depression:

"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.  Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone."

Short bio

Angus was born on 10 July 1998 in Oakland, California, although much of his family lives in Ireland. He attended the School of Production Design and graduated in 2016. While working at a chicken and waffle restaurant near the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, he was discovered by Euphoria casting agent Jennifer Venditti. That was the first step that led to him getting to play Fezco "Fez" O'Neill, the young drug dealer with a heart of gold, in the popular HBO series. "Then they brought me back in and they showed me the role, and it made more sense. Because in my mind I was like, they stopped me because I look like I could be a star? Then I'm like, no, it's because I look like I could be a drug dealer". Cloud had already appeared in a few music videos and in a small role in the films North Hollywood and The Line, but it was Euphoria that made him famous thanks to the actor's talent and the audience's affection for his character.

Angus Cloud's best scenes in "Euphoria"

In Euphoria, Angus Cloud played the character of a young drug dealer with a difficult family history, an addicted younger brother, a sensitive soul and some kind of speech delay due to a head injury he had as a child. His Fezco will be memorable to fans of the series for many scenes.

Fezco & Lexie

The crowd favourite is also the most romantic, namely the one where he shows his vulnerability in a moment shared with fellow actress Maude Apatow. Do you remember them? They are both lying on the couch and he gets emotional after watching the film Stand By Me and sings with her to the soundtrack Stand By Me by Ben E. King. And how many would have loved to be Lexie and hear, "Talking to you was one of the best experiences of my entire year," as it happens in the first episode of season two? Also sweet when Fez, talking about the future, confesses that he wants to live on a farm with "horses, cows, pigs, chickens, goats ... a small family".

Fezco & Rue

The friendship that Fez and Rue form is crucial to Euphoria. Throughout the series, he has proven himself to be Rue's protector. Some examples? Fez knows that Mouse is trouble. When Rue is at his house and Mouse wants to come, Fez does everything he can to get Rue to leave. When Rue is about to try fentanyl, Fez tries to dissuade her, but to no avail. Or when Fez will not let Rue into his house and tells her he will no longer help her kill herself with drugs.

Fezco & Nate

Fez and Nate have argued many times throughout the series, but things come to a head in the first episode of season two when Fez reaches his breaking point: after Nate stands up to Rue and Jules and reports Fez's affairs to the police, the boy loses his mind and hits Nate.

Fezco & Ash

Fezco is the only person in Euphoria who is willing to put the protection of others above his own interests, especially when it comes to his little brother Ash. Even in the final episode of season two, his main concern is how to protect Ash from the police officers who are besieging their house.

The words of Angus Cloud's colleagues

The appreciation expressed by Angus' colleagues before and after the news of his death is great. Commenting on the news of the actor's death, Sam Levinson, creator and director of Euphoria, said, "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family." Storm Reid, who plays Rue's sister Gia, shared a video of Fez singing "Stand By Me" on the second season of Euphoria in an Instagram Story, writing, "the tears just won’t stop." Mason Shea Joyce, who plays a young Fez in Euphoria, told The Hollywood Reporter, "Angus had the sweetest smile and a generous soul. He was kind and supportive, never too busy for a quick chat or pep talk. It was an honor to play young Fezco." Perhaps the most beautiful words were dedicated by Maude Apatow in a recent interview with L'Officiel: "I love Angus, he is a very good actor, good and charismatic. Of course, the romantic development between Lexi and Fez, the most unlikely couple, was shocking for some people, but I think it makes sense, although it's strange - they are tender with each other. He's so tough, but also so sensitive, and she finds him charming. It's like Tony Soprano."
