The Kardashians' jewelry

Engagement rings, cross pendants, gold bracelets and a shower of diamonds are the Kardashian-Jenner family's true passions

The Kardashians' jewelry Engagement rings, cross pendants, gold bracelets and a shower of diamonds are the Kardashian-Jenner family's true passions

No one shops like the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Their credit cards whiz by at lightning speed, their budgets know no bounds and neither does their desire to constantly update their wardrobe with clothes, shoes, handbags (you know Kylie's walk-in closet full of Birkins?) and, of course, jewellery. While us mere mortals have to wait for the sales to add a few new pieces to our outfits, showbiz's most famous sisters aren't the least bit impressed by the economic crisis and go on a spending spree, especially when it comes to rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. A real Kardashian has to shine from head to toe. The real jewellery addict in the family is, of course, Kim, who has a treasure chest worthy of a king, in addition to engagement rings, various diamonds and iconic pieces.

Kim and the Barbie necklace

Kim Kardashian used her summer holiday to fly to Japan with her eldest daughter North. In between sightseeing and attending a few events, she stopped by Vintage Ecoland, where she found two new pieces for her accessory collection: a pink leather mini-bag by Chanel and a vintage Chanel choker from the SS 1995 collection with multicoloured gemstones, gold double-C pendants and teardrop-shaped pearls, worn on the runway by Shalom Harlow and recently featured in the movie Barbie around Margot Robbie's neck.

Kim and the fashion icon's passion for jewellery

In 2021, the founder of Skims explained in an episode of the series KUWTK that after the robbery she suffered in Paris in 2016, she no longer wore expensive jewellery or kept it in her house, preferring to borrow it for an event or choose fake ones. That may be true, but it doesn't mean she stopped buying them. In January 2023, she bought at a Sotheby's auction for more than £160,000 the Attallah Cross, a necklace with a dangling cross set with amethysts and studded with 5.2-carat diamonds, designed by Garrard in the 1920s and worn by Lady D more than once at a major charity gala in 1987. Kim has a particular weakness for jewellery by memorable fashion icons. In 2017, she bid $379,500 for Jackie Kennedy's Cartier Tank watch at a Christie's auction. The item, given to the First Lady by her brother-in-law Stanislaw "Stas" Radziwill and engraved with "Stas to Jackie" on the back, was worn by Kim in 2019 during her meeting with former US President Donald Trump at the White House. The first collector's jewellery Kardashian bought, however, dates back to last decade and belonged to her idol Elizabeth Taylor. Kim spent $65,000 on three gold, jade and diamond bracelets signed by Lorraine Schwartz that were once part of the actress' vast jewellery collection.

Kim and the jewels given by Ye

Of course, Kim has no problem buying her own rings or necklaces, but a large part of her jewellery collection was upgraded by Kanye West. During their relationship, Ye gifted his ex-wife many precious jewels, starting with her engagement ring. In 2013, the rapper proposed to Kim with a stunning ring featuring a 15-carat cushion-cut diamond worth nearly $2 million. Three years later, the Yeezy founder complemented the engagement ring with a larger 20-carat emerald-cut stone worth about $4.5 million. Too bad the jewel was stolen in the 2016 heist. Other glittering gifts include the Martin Katz Tobey diamond earrings with two large diamonds surrounded by a hundred smaller diamonds, set in 18-karat white gold and worn by Kim on her wedding day; the diamond-studded Cartier Panthère bracelet valued at $68.000 to $73,000 that was unwrapped on Valentine's Day 2013; the 18-karat yellow gold, lacquer, tsavorite garnet and onyx bracelet, also from Cartier's Panthère collection, that Kanye Kim wore to celebrate his 32nd birthday. And how could we forget that when Kim was pregnant with Saint in 2015, she published a post saying she wanted a Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace like the one she wore to the Art + Film Gala a year earlier, and her now ex-husband ran out to buy it, adding further sparkle to the Kardashians' jewellery collection.

Kourtney, Kylie and the diamonds

Kim is the member of the Kardashian-Jenner family with the most iconic and valuable jewellery collection, but she's not the only one with major gems. All the sisters (and even mum Kris) have a passion for cross pendants and especially diamonds. One of the most beautiful is the engagement ring that Travis Barker gave to Kourtney Kardashian. Designed by renowned jeweller Lorraine Schwartz, it features a huge oval-cut diamond with an estimated value of 10 to 12 carats set in a pavé band. And remember the necklace Travis Scott used to celebrate Kylie Jenner's 22nd birthday? It was a custom-made piece by Eliantte & Co. set with pink and white diamonds from the chain to the pendant, with a larger stone in the centre that mimicked the shape of the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit logo, i.e. a pair of plump lips dripping lipstick.
