Everything that went down at the Savage X Fenty FW18 show

The show that yesterday night shut down New York Fashion Week was probably one of the most interesting and powerful of the whole event. Rihanna brought the entire fashion system to Brooklyn, a place not usually part of the Fashion Week map, to show her Savage X Fenty collection, live streamed on YouTube as well. 

The event was a celebration of the beauty of the female body, in all its forms. In a kind of earthly garden, decorated by streams and bushes, models and dancers of every race, age and size walk down the catwalk. The performance of the dancers, often hugging or holding hands, celebrated women's sisterhood and support. Stronger together. 

Gigi Hadid opened the show, followed by her sister Bella and Joan Smalls. But Savage X Fenty did not need super models Victoria's-Secret-style: women of every size walked on the catwalk, proud of their curves and sexier than ever. Like the plus size model Paloma Elsesser, who sported a bodysuit with cups with embroidered crystals. 

One of the best moments of the show was brought by pregnant model Slick Woods. Almost totally naked, wearing only sparkling black nipple pasties and a sexy cut-out bodysuit, she proved that you can be sexy even with a baby bump. Slick wasn't the only expecting model, Rihanna wanted to underline how pregnancy is a moment of beauty, attraction and sensuality. 

For her final bow at the end of the show, Rihanna wore a tight tube dress and matching headscarf, which she later untied to reveal her smiling face, surrounded by all the models of the show who were holding hands. RiRi once again did it in her own way, turning the Savage X Fenty show into an event made by and for women all over the world.
