How to protect lips during summer

Lips routine to fight dryness and dehydration

How to protect lips during summer Lips routine to fight dryness and dehydration

Just as in winter, chapped and dry lips are a constant in summer. Blame it on high temperatures, wind, sun and air conditioning, but also bad habits such as not protecting them, continuing to wet them or picking off the cuticles with your teeth. How to run for cover? This part of the body has a very thin skin layer and virtually no melanin production, which is why it is super-sensitive and in need of special attention. Consequences of neglecting the lips are extreme dryness, resulting micro-lesions, the onset of blisters, sunburn pain and typical swelling (which unfortunately does not look good). Some people mistakenly pass on common sunscreen; however, as mentioned above, this is a particularly delicate area that requires specific products and an ad hoc routine.

First, before nourishing and moisturizing, it is essential to do a scrub: friction serves to reactivate microcirculation, eliminate dead cells and make the lips softer. It is not important to pull on the cuticles; you only risk irritating them or making them bleed. Next, choosing the right lip balm is essential to keep lips moisturized. Products containing perfumes are not recommended while checking for ingredients with an emollient effect. The lip balm should also be reapplied several times during the day, while at night before bed you can use an area-specific mask or shea butter that provides deep hydration. If we are exposed to the sun, it is also important to remember to protect our lips from UV rays, even in the city. Accordingly, products should be chosen that contain a high protection factor inside, at least SPF 30, since the lips have a thinner layer of skin than the rest of the body. LH36 expands its product line and introduces #LIPBALMLOVERS the lip balm sticks to take care of the lips at any time of the day. Following the brand's philosophy, the lip balms are also 100% cruelty-free, vegan and genderless. The ingredients used in the formulation are natural and specifically chosen to nourish and keep the delicate lip area moisturized.

Salon treatments can also help: in fact, LPG offers endermologie® Eye & Lip Sublimator, the treatment capable of detoxifying the dermal environment to promote good cell health. By stimulating fibroblasts, the treatment reactivates the natural synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid: from the very first session, lips regain hydration and volume.

Last but not least, one of the main mistakes to avoid is licking the lips: in fact, the enzymes in saliva tend to dry them out and dehydrate them even more. The choice of toothpaste can also affect it; one that is too aggressive can irritate lips and make them chapped.
