Primer: 5 most common mistakes How to avoid them to do a better use of this product

The primer is still a little known product: it is in fact among those that not everyone uses or has an idea of what it actually does. But let's do some clarity. In general, it is a base to be applied before make-up or even on its own to even out the complexion or to correct discoloration. Unlike the concealer, however, it does not have a high covering power, which is why it cannot be substituted for this product. It is in fact ideal for giving the skin a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing appearance as well as for correcting the shine of the face, dull complexion, dilated pores and promoting adherence of makeup. But how do you put it and what are the mistakes to correct to make the most of this make-up ally?

1. Use it to replace skincare

Never! The face primer does not replace your skincare routine: from cleansing products to various tonic, serum or cream, nothing can be replaced by the primer. For a flawless make-up, it is therefore good to start with your usual skincare treatment and then go and apply the primer.

2. Applying it too early

The primer should be applied after applying the moisturizing products and before starting to apply make-up, but it is better to wait a few minutes between one action and the next to allow the primer to dry completely; this will help reduce pilling or blemishes.

3. Choose the wrong formulation

Depending on the type of skin and the blemish to be corrected, it is possible to choose a certain type of primer since they now exist for all needs: from super illuminating pigments with light-reflecting pigments to opacifying ones that minimize pores.

4. Use it to replace the concealer

Listen, listen, the face primer is not a concealer. First of all because they are applied in two different moments of the routine, secondly they have a different texture, that of the first is light and "transparent", while that of the concealer is more dense and covering.

5. Use the face primer on lips and eye contour

For these areas of the face there are ad hoc primers, with a formulation designed specifically for these areas so that the make-up lasts longer without "migrating" and ending up in the "folds" of the mobile eyelid and lip contour, so as to remain flawless.
