Sometimes the most influential women in the world are not princesses and duchesses. And this is the case of Pat McGrath, makeup guru, undisputed queen of runway makeovers and, for real, the most influential. The list of celebrities she worked with is endless: from Madonna to Sarah Jessica Parker, passing through Cate Blanchett and Cindy Crawford. We are not even surprised by her choice to call herself Mother when she talks about her homonymous brand: in fact, she is the mother who first launched her lips set with rhinestones or her eyelashes decorated with feathers.

Her majesty knows this well. Pat McGrath in fact just received a royal honor, or rather, the first for a make-up artist. In fact, named BDE-Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, she enters by right into the annual Honors List of Queen Elizabeth II for her work in the service of beauty, also in terms of diversity and inclusion.
And seeing her at work, for those lucky enough to access the backstage of shows of names like Givenchy and Valentino, is something sublime. In short, Pat McGrath is a legend. Her work, which began in the early 90s, goes far beyond the creation of a make-up look or the formulation of a lipstick or an eye palette. Pat creates trends that we all wear. It happened with blue mascara, after seeing it on Stella McCartney's models in 2012, and it also happened in the case of the bling-bling lips worn by her muse and friend Naomi Campbell at the 2016 VMA's. And it's no wonder that big fashion names, from Prada to Marc Jacobs, long for her to create memorable beauty looks for their shows. So, to refresh your memory, we collected 10 beauty statements by Pat McGrath for the runways. In fact, we do not exclude, one day, to admire a vernissage entirely dedicated to the most influential make-up artist in the world and to her creations.
