The anti blue light beauty routine

To take care and protect your skin from damage caused by the screens

The anti blue light beauty routine To take care and protect your skin from damage caused by the screens

If before the Coronavirus emergency, having a meeting or a business lunch meant disconnecting from the phone, PC screen and tablet for a while, now that everything has become more and more digital, the hours spent in front of electronic devices have multiplied. And if smartworking certainly has its advantages, being hyper-connected 24/7 is certainly not good for our skin which, subjected to HEV radiation produced by screens, ages more quickly. Defined as high-energy visible light (HEV stands for High Energy Visible), blue light is in fact one of the skin's main enemies, along with pollution, UV rays, smoke and stress. This is confirmed by recent studies that explain how - although blue light is already present in nature as part of the light emitted by the sun that reaches the retina and also affects our psychological well-being - that produced by devices is responsible for premature skin aging.

Hours and hours in front of smartphones, tablets and computers cause wrinkles to appear prematurely. But that's not all: spots, loss of elasticity, inflammation and weakening of the skin's natural protective barrier can also occur earlier than expected. So how to do if we are forced for work, or just because we are incurable social media addicted, to stay permanently glued to the screens? First of all, by starting to move the device away from the face (the further away, the better), lower the brightness level and fill up on antioxidants also with regard to nutrition. Among the most effective, there is certainly vitamin C: the best natural defense against free radicals as it protects the skin from photo-aging, reduces and prevents the formation of wrinkles, counteracts the loss of skin tone and hydrates the deeper layers of the skin. epidermis, ensuring a luminous and radiant skin all day long.

It is also good, at least during the weekends, to take a break and "disconnect" from email, social media and chat so as to allow the skin (but also the mind) to breathe and regenerate. Obviously it is difficult to completely deprive yourself of screens for the whole day but perhaps it is possible to start limiting their use at certain times of the day: read a book, make a mask, try new recipes, tidy up the wardrobe, do yoga, try meditation, dusting off old board games… you will see that it is not so boring. And what about skincare? It is possible to protect the skin with the new anti-blue light beauty products which, thanks to ad hoc formulas and exclusive patents, are able to limit the damage caused by the screen.
