Jacquemus ceramics collection Simon Porte Jacquemus has created a ceramic capsule inspired by the Mediterranean aesthetic in collaboration with Daphne Leon

Jacquemus brings a taste of the Mediterranean to our tables with the new collection of dishes created in collaboration with Daphne Leon. Together with the ceramist, who designs the tableware for the Oursin restaurant, she has created, exclusively for the celebration of the Browns retailer's 50th anniversary, a 5-piece capsule recalling the lush nature of Provence and the iconic locations of the French brand's shows. The ceramics are inspired by the sea, the sun, the summer, the Mediterranean aesthetic that led Jacquemus to success and incorporate hand-painted 3D details such as eggplant, radishes, olives, citrus fruits, but also the Chiquito bag or the famous XXL straw hat.

This is not the first collaboration between Simon Porte Jacquemus and Daphne Leon. Last fall, the artist was hired to create a series of dinnerwear pieces for Oursin, Jacquemus' second restaurant, founded with Caviar Kaspia which, like Café Citron, is located inside Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées in Paris.

Opened in September 2019 Oursin was designed as a Mediterranean paradise in the heart of Paris. From Jacquemus' interior design and furnishings, to chef Erica Archambault's seafood menu, to Leon's handmade tableware, to the vine tree climbing up to the ceiling, everything has been developed by the designer himself to evoke the eternally summery mood of southern France. The sculptural and all-white interiors are inspired by the minimalist and modernist works of multidisciplinary artist Valentine Schlegel and the works of architect Jacques Couelle, in whose cave-like house Simon Porte Jacquemus spent his vacations. Little touches of color between the undulating walls are given by colorful vases, bowls and other decorative objects in Picasso style that Jacquemus has collected at flea markets or taken from his personal collection.

The real highlight of the restaurant are Leon's ceramics, 45 dishes that the young Athenian girl sculpted and hand-painted, each one dedicated to a Mediterranean product: from crab claws to sea urchins, (from which the restaurant takes its name), from asparagus to peaches. The same mood is captured in the new Jacquemus X Daphne Leon capsule which is available from November 3, 2020 exclusively on brownsfashion.com. brownsfashion.com.
