The best beauty looks of Milan Fashion Week A return to minimalism, to a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic

In a period of uncertainty, fashion and beauty can bring a breath of freshness and hope to the audience. In the last few weeks, on the catwalks and in the digital presentations of designers from all over the world, collections and beauty looks have seen a return to minimalism, to a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic.

Make up and hair look characterized by extreme naturalness, long-lasting, mixing tradition and modernity: the touch of the best make-up artists and hair-stylists in the world doesn't go unnoticed, it is evident from the beauty that they manage to convey through simplicity.

From personalized looks on the models of Valentino, to the romantic and intimate vision of beauty according to Fendi, nss G-Club offers a selection of the key beauty looks of Milan Fashion Week SS21.

VALENTINO

"The hairlook of the Valentino SS2021 fashion show was a display of inclusive beauty. There was no defined look on the runway, it was about celebrating every cut, texture and individuality, which is the key aspect for fashion and beauty" says hairstylist Guido Palau. The same goes for Pat McGrath's make-up: graphic eyeliner and dark lipsticks alternate with nude make-up, no make-up effect, celebrating the uniqueness of the models.

FENDI

At the direction of Fendi's beauty looks, two masters of make-up and hairstyle respectively: Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Christian Dior Makeup, works together with Sam McKnight, Lady D's hairstylist and backstage guru. The makeup is nude and shaded, with a subtle touch of ancient pink lipstick on some of the models; the hairstyle is modeled according to the face and style of men and women on the catwalk: Peter Philips creates variations of the chignon, the so-called "Fendi rolls", with a sleek effect on the front.

PRADA

The new face of Prada, according to the aesthetic codes of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, celebrates minimalism and graphic lines, in the clothes of the SS21 collection as well as in the beauty looks. The hairstylist Guido Palau is inspired by 70s haircuts, recreating a different hair look on each model, playing with geometric lines and symmetries. The make-up is very light and nude, leaving the attention on eyes of the models facing the cameras.

FERRAGAMO

In the backstage of Ferragamo, make-up artist Farah Omidi gets inspired by 1950s glam to recreate a modern look with a retro flavor, consisting of a cat eye made with white or red eyeliner and a light gloss on the lips. The hairstylist Duffy, on the other hand, keeps hair natural, enhancing the haircut of the models: long hair are left down the face with soft waves, the shorter ones pulled back with a slight sleek effect.

MAX MARA

The harmony of colors is the key to the fashion show of Max Mara for its SS21: a palette of sand, beige, ecru and pastel blue matches perfectly with the shades of red and burgundy on the lips of the models. Delicate looks made more bold by the unexpected touch of color: make-up artist Diane Kendal chooses red and vinaccia lipsticks with slightly satin finish, enhancing the uniqueness of the models.
