Tips and step by step guide to get a natural sunkissed effect

The ultimate guide to the apply the bronzer perfectly Tips and step by step guide to get a natural sunkissed effect

With summer just around the corner but the impossibility to go to the park or to the beach to get some tan, it's time to think how to brighten up our skin at home with make-up! And what other product, if not the bronzer, could help us get a natural sunkissed effect? A passepartout in every beauty case for summer.

To replicate the effect of the skin kissed by the sun and therefore slightly tanned, however, it is good to follow some important tips, starting with the choice of the right shade, and avoid making mistakes that could ruin the bronze effect. Remember: the main purpose of the bronzer is to "warm up" our skin tone and not to artificially color it. So forget the orange and biscuit tones - terribly "fake" compared to natural colors - to make room for all shades of beige and brown with pearlescent finishes in gold tones, or completely matte. It is important that the nuance is never two shades darker than your natural skin tone otherwise you would risk the "mask" effect. Also it's better to avoid too shiny shades with glitters (the highlighter is there to make us glow) especially for those who have oily skin.

If applied well, in fact, the bronzer is the only product that is able to give us a healthy and radiant, but extremely natural look, as if we had just returned from the beach (we wish!). But what are the steps to follow to ensure that the best effect is achieved?

STEP 1

Start by creating your usual make-up base (whether with a foundation, a concealer or with a BB cream) and then eliminate any residue of oil by applying a veil of compact face powder.

STEP 2

After choosing the shade that suits you, using a medium-large brush with a round tip (perfect is the kabuki), begin to gently apply the bronzer with circular movements starting from the forehead - precisely from the hairline - blending the product on the temples.

STEP 3

By imagining the face in two halves, first on one side and then on the other of the face, continue applying the bronzer following the external contour as if to draw a "3" starting from the temple, continuing on the cheekbone and ending on the jaw. Repeat the same thing on the other half of the face without stopping fading. To make the effect even lighter and more natural, tap a little foundation, concealer or BB cream (the one you used as a base) over the clear areas to make the nuance more gradual.

STEP 4

Then continue with the application of a light amount of bronzer on the nose and chin, in short, on the areas that are naturally affected by the sun. Finally, do not forget to pass the product also on the ears, neck and décolleté.

Important: always remember to take a small amount of product and to "unload" the brush from the extra product, resting it on your wrist. Especially if you are a beginner, don't exaggerate it and remember to check yourself in natural light before going out.

Well, if you are now ready to create a perfect sunkissed effect, here is our selection of bronzers in a mini shopping guide.
