Selfie Interview w/ Amber Simone The young songwriter narrates her everyday life through images, words and music

Despite being only 23 years old, Amber Simone  is one of the most interesting young British singer-songwriters of the moment. Born in September 1996 in East London, she grew up listening to Sade, Michael Jackson and The Police, finding in music a way to express her inner world and experience total freedom.

Her first single, the sweet Taught Me Better, caught the attention of industry insiders who compared her soulful, gender fluid voice to the one of James Blake, Prince and The Weeknd. Following tracks like Violet Light, Throwing Arrows and I'm Feeling High, included in her debut EP titled For Those Moments and released in April 2019, gave her the support of BBC Radio 1, Rankin - who chose her for his VERO Live Sessions - and John Legend who invited her to perform as an opening act during his UK tour.

Her sound is an elegant mix of disco, soul and pop so mature and emotional that it is hard to believe that Amber Simone's career is just at the beginning. But the truth is that the English artist's path is constantly evolving. Right now, more specifically, she is focusing on the writing and, for the first time, on the production of her next EP
