Already is Beyoncé's new video The track anticipates the release on Disney+ of Black Is King, the visual album focused on Black Culture

Just hours before Black Is King's launch on Disney+Beyoncé released the video for Already. On the notes of the single, featuring Major Lazer and the Ghanaian musician Shatta Wall, Queen B is a beautiful goddess who, surrounded by a group of dancers, sings in a series of locations mixing nature and urban landscapes.

The images are a powerful celebration of black culture full of high fashion that combines bodypainting, brands such as  BurberryMarine Serre e Loza Maléombho with an aesthetic that echoes a bit Frank Marshall shots of Botswana's metal fans.

The new video anticipates the release today, July 31, of Black Is King on the Disney+ platform. The film, written, directed and produced by the singer, is based on the music of The Lion King: The Gift, the album published in conjunction with the launch of the 2019 live-action in which Bey was the original voice actor of the lioness Nala, is "a love letter to Africa" dedicated to the history of the black community and, at the same time, is a call for self-awareness through the rediscovery of our roots.

With this visual album, I wanted to present elements of Black history and African tradition, with a modern twist and a universal message, and what it truly means to find your self-identity and build a legacy. I spent a lot of time exploring and absorbing the lessons of past generations and the rich history of different African customs. While working on this film, there were moments where I've felt overwhelmed, like many others on my creative team, but it was important to create a film that instills pride and knowledge.

The project is a celebration of resilience and the Black community, it is an imaginative journey that captures the beauty of people and crosses continents, from America to Africa to Europe. It focuses on pride, respect and inclusion, themes made even more powerful by the Black Lives Matter protest movements following George Floyd's death

Black Is King enlists, in addition to Blue Ivy in a cameo, a long line-up of artists such as Jay-ZChildish GambinoKendrick LamarKelly RowlandPharrell WilliamsTina Knowles-LawsonLupita Nyong’oNaomi CampbellAweng Ade-ChuolAdut Akech.

It is not only the huge number of featuring that makes Beyoncé's latest work unique and special, but the beauty of the images and the costumes, comparable to those of Lemonade

While the bodysuit with the crescent moon by Marine Serre and Burberry custom cow-print look catch the eye in Already's video, among the frames of Black Is King shown so far there are a series of stunning outfits like the voluminous pink dress from Valentino's SS19 couture collection, Norma Kamali's 2020 resort yellow dress or Alexandrine's creation made of beads and shells, combining major fashion houses and emerging designers and including MuglerErdemDéviant La VieHyun Mi NielsenTongoro e molti altri.
