How to make a perfect Easter tablescape

The right details to turn the dining room into a carefree festive place

How to make a perfect Easter tablescape The right details to turn the dining room into a carefree festive place

It's almost like sitting down to lunch between the pages of Peter Rabbit or Alice in Wonderland books. Easter tablescaping turns into a sort of open-air meadow with details of flowers, decorative cutlery and jugs in pastel colours, Vichy textures, tender bunnies painted on plates and colourful eggs as place cards. At Easter and Easter Monday, days in which the desire to be together and conviviality is revived, you want to show off not only a beautiful spring dress but also to set the table with appropriate kits for the occasion. Colour becomes your palette to express your chosen mood, thinking about the right combinations to create a social feed-proof tablescape.

Start with a neutral base, contrasting with two other colours and with a surprisingly lively final accent. For example, start with a white, pink or light blue tablecloth, then add a touch of lilac and apricot and surprise with a splash of meadow green. And don't be afraid to mix checks and stripes together, or to put more Easter animals on the table. If you're not a fan of fauna, opt for flora, thanks to floral plates and textiles that immediately make the table more bucolic. The extra touch of style is golden cutlery, or in silver and pastel shades, contrasting with pop glasses, even one different from the other. The table centrepiece is also very important, such as bouquets of fresh flowers that immediately give a feeling of romance and rebirth. Complete with decorations as you wish, from scented candles to cute swans, chicks and bunnies that participate with you in the long-awaited moment of conviviality.
