The new Acne Studios Musubi purses with psychedelic stars Three exclusive models inspired by the work of Ben Quinn and made in collaboration with the artist

Among the inspirations for Acne Studios' Spring/Summer 2021 collection, there was Starworn, a series of canvases created by Ben Quinn that feature a psychedelic star as its subject. Repeated over and over again, that silhouette looks like some sort of space-time portal radiating light and allowing you to travel to different worlds.

Lately, I’ve been sort of obsessed with the pulsating star shape, like waking up and rubbing your eyes and being transported for a moment. - said the Los Angeles-based artist about the idea behind his creations - What I hope people get out of my work is a sense of possibility in the idea that there is so much to experience here and now in human form. A reminder to live psychedelically, or maybe a weird dream, said the LA-based artist about his work.

After appearing on the new dresses created by Jonny Johansson, the star has become the protagonist of a new capsule collection of bags made in collaboration with Ben Quinn. The result of this partnership are three limited-edition models of Musubi: the first, where the star is designed in shades of beige and contains another in the centre with vibrant colours; the second has a multicolour star that stands out on a neutral base; while the third is a real rainbow explosion.

For the launch of the most psychedelic Musubi bags ever, which are available online and in select Acne Studios boutiques, the brand presented a short film in which Quinn illustrates the creative process behind the Starworn series.
