Dior presents the new version of the Lady D-Lite bag For the FW20, Maria Grazia Chiuri revisits Lady Diana's favorite bag

The object of desire of this season is the new Lady D-Lite bag. For the FW20, Maria Grazia Chiuri revisits Maison's cult item in an elegant and very soft velvety version which highlights its characteristic tone on tone Cannage pattern. The it-bag, beloved by celebrities and all fans of the brand, is declined in burgundy and navy blue, but maintains all its trademarks such as the square shape, the rounded handles, the pendants that make up the writing "D. I. O. R." pale gold color and the front logo embroidered in contrasting matt cotton thread.

The Lady D-Lite was created for the SS20 collection as a contemporary evolution of the iconic Lady Dior. Created in 1994 under the name Chouchou and made unique by the particular stitching motif imitating the workmanship of a French armchair, it entered the history of fashion on September 25, 1995. Its destiny changed when the premiere dame of France, Bernadette Chirac gifted it to Lady Diana who wore the bag for the first time that day in September, during the opening night of Cézanne's exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. Since then, the people's princess shows off on many other occasions, models of different colors and fabrics that symbol of couture minimalism which Christian Dior called "an art object, for its unique character". This is how, in homage to its biggest fan, from Chouchou the bag became Lady Dior.

Following Diana, many celebrities, from Marion Cotillard to Monica Bellucci, from Anne Hathaway to Sarah Jessica Parker, held it in their hands, turning it into the perfect object of desire for every generation. Her charm becomes even more irresistible in the latest Lady D-Lite version which, despite the more contemporary twist, remains a masterpiece of craftsmanship, as demonstrated by the exclusive making of video published by Dior.  The images show all the techniques and details that make the bag so special: from the leather processing to the graphic reinterpretation of the Cannage motif in 3-D embroidery, up to the precious finishing touches such as the internal zipper or the pockets.

The Lady D-Lite bag FW20 in velvet is available in Dior stores and online.
