The latest chapter in the partnership started out in 2010

Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse Foundation, the new capsule collection The latest chapter in the partnership started out in 2010

Following the opening of its first official store in Milan, Fred Perry has announced the arrival of a new capsule collection born from the successful collaboration with the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The collection, inspired by the first pieces designed in 2010 by the singer for the English brand, is the latest chapter of a partnership that for years has developed a fundamental work of the charity, which has as its primary objective to help young people who are victims of drug and alcohol addiction.

The first collaboration between Fred Perry and Amy Winehouse dates back to 2010 when the artist designed a series of items in collaboration with the brand, a symbol of Britishness around the world. The result was a collection of fifteen items, which perfectly combined the vintage touch of Fred Perry with that inspired by street culture but at the same time retro, in full fifties pin-up style, that made Amy so unique. After her tragic death, in July 2011, Fred Perry took up the drafts of the project, retrieving all those elements that were only remained sketches on the paper: then, the second capsule collection, always inspired by his original drawings, came to life in 2017.

As per tradition, the new FW20 collection is also inspired by the original models created by Amy, enriched by a Scottish motif in the colours Strawberry Pink and Lipstick Red, and by the satin patches depicting the playing cards. The Polo Shirt, the iconic Fred Perry garment, returns in a slightly fitted version, with a long, tight buttoned flap and cuffed sleeves as in the original version. The dresses remain faithful to the artist's idea and are made of cotton piquet, while the bomber jacket is reflected in the sporty style of Fred Perry and stands out for the iconic laurel wreath embroidered on the back.

Each item of the collection is co-signed by two red hearts in relief: a reference to the distinctive tattoos of Amy Winehouse, who almost ten years after her death continues her journey among the most important artists in the history of music.
