London Fashion Week SS20 Moodboard The inspirations directly from the catwalks

If the main news of this London Fashion Week SS20 is that Kendall Jenner has gone blonde (for the Burberry fashion show), it is a sign not only of the model's popularity, but also of the fact that the collections presented in these days have failed to catalyze attention or to win over the public. Perhaps the latest shows will not make fashion history, but, certainly, London confirms its superiority in terms of interesting creations compared to New York.

For the next summer season, the main inspirations come from contemporary art and vintage South America. Erdem, for example, chooses as muse the photographer Tina Modotti, while the talented Grace Wales Bonner includes among her influences the Cuban culture of the '40s and '50s and the book Mumbo Jumbo by Ishmael Reed. Liz Magor with her particular still lifes that focus on survival and on the banality of everyday life are one of the starting points for JW Anderson's new collection, while the clouds of Mary Weatherford color are transformed into prints for Roksanda's clothes. Each fashion show opens a window on a different world: the Irish pagan tradition of the Wren Boys, Sailor Moon, the new version of Little Women directed by Greta Gerwing, post-colonialism, Ziegfeld Follies, 80's NY, 70's disco music and even the video of Radiohead's No surprises. Which one would you like to explore?
